I am so undecided about which DVC should be my home resort, so I thought I'd ask the experts.

I want to go at least twice a year. One time is definitely a studio at OKW in July for a week.

The other time is a week in early December or mid-January (golf for DH and parks for me) in either a 1bdrm (best case) or a studio (if we need to save pts)

For the second scenario, I'd probably like to stay at one of the Epcot DVCs, but BLT beckons too.

So how hard would it be for me to get a studio in July at OKW at 7 months?

Does anyone think there would ever be the possibility of a lake view BLT 1bdrm or studio at 7 months? (I realise an MK view will be nigh impossible at 7 months)

I should say that I would have no problem staying at SSR or OKW if that was all that was available at 7 months out. I just don't think I would want them as my home resort. I am leaning towards resale at BCV or maybe BWV, as long as I can be relatively sure of the OKW July booking as I will always need two real beds for that July trip.

On the other hand, BLT is a painlessly quick (albeit more $$$) purchase from Disney and it has some advantages like being close to some of our favorite restaurants and MK and the monorail.

Any advice?

 Rent where you want to buy and buy where you love to rent.

JMHO - purchase a smallish contract at BWV or BCV via resale that fits your needs and then do an add-on through Disney for the BLT points that you want.

I'm thinking the OKW reservation would not be difficult to get in July, and you can fill your other needs by 1st purchasing the resale for however many points you need and then going through Disney to get your BLT. Now if you want 160+ points at BLT, then it doesn't matter whether you purchase the resale first or not.

Also, I think BCV has a limited number of studios with 2 queen beds.

Personally, we love the freedom of having either A Boardwalk view or a standard view for fewer points.

BWV can be difficult to get in during odd times. At the 10 month 3 week point, I could not get the exact dates in October I wanted. I had to take the week before, which was also fine.

So it all depends on when you want to go. You may want to check the dates available section on these boards. That may give you a better idea of what may be available for the Epcot resorts.

OKW is a fairly big resort, but you never know. To take MA's advice a step further, I'd go ahead and get a small resale contract for BWV and then pick up another contract for OKW in the amount of points you'll want to use. That would make your points a little harder to keep track of every year, but it would give you the 11 month window you need.
