Whirlpool HE Laundry Pair

5.3 cu. ft top load and
7.6 cu. ft steam dryer

Any information about these appreciated

Don't know if it is too late or not, but I just wanted to tell you that I have a Whirlpool Cabrio HE and I absolutely, positively HATE it with the intensity of 10,000 burning suns!

Good Luck with your purchase!

Whirlpool Duet Sport was junk. (Front load). It lasted 6 or 7 years and was nearly $1,000. Junk.

We also have the Whirlpool Cabrio. The wash cycles seem long and the clothes are extremely wrinkled when taken out of the washer.

What is the model number? Does it have direct drive as in the Cabrio Platinum series or just the a Cabrio? The direct drive is a true transmission not a belt/pulley system. The belt stretches out over time and the spin speed diminishes. If not properly loaded (heavy at the bottom, light at the top) the machine does not run as well as it should. Also, make sure that you use HE detergent, otherwise the detergent does not rinse out of the clothes and the machine will pick up an odor and transfer that to your clothes.

Based on selling appliances for over 8 years, I would pick and LG or Samsung over a WP anyday.....

I would be interested also in any suggestions for a new washer and dryer. Mine have both been breaking lately and I am getting sick of fixing them. I usually get the parts for less than 20 bucks though, but just everything seems to be going. I usually find out the possible problems with a little online research, and my husband tests the parts. It's amazing how cheaply you can fix them, but I am ready for a new set. I don't necessarily want a front loader but I do want one with a big tub.

We're currently renting and the owners have a Whirlpool Duet set. I HATE it. The front loading washer constantly leaks, and the dryer sometimes needs two cycles to dry. When we move this summer, I'm looking at buying either LG or Samsung.

Thanks for all the info. We do not have them as yet. It is a top loading washer, and Steam dryer. Trying to research reviews. If we don't find them favorable either, we will try LG or Samsung.

We have been looking for a new washer and dryer also. I have consumer reports subscription. It looks like Samsung and LG products are top if the list.

We bought the Whirlpool Cabrio pair (no agitator) in January, and we still like it. Our dryer makes a funny noise, though, and we need to have someone come out and take a look at it.

I had good experience with whirlpool until I bought my duet washer. The door handle broke within months, they told me they would not replace it. I kept the guy on the line and he told me they were almost at the point of so many complaints that they would start giving them away for free. Told him honestly that I paid more for that washer than I did for my first car, and he sent the handle.

fast forward a few years, that washer is a hot mess. you can google it, there is a ton of info on the internet on the troubles with the whirlpool duet washer. Based on that, I will never trust them again. Buy something made by someone other than whirlpool and save yourself a world of trouble.

half the time it stops mid cycle and you can't get it to restart or open the door, so the clothes mold inside. it is just awful. Run away from whirlpool.:guilty:
