When we go down in October for my husbands conference, we are able to take advantage of a convention only night in the park IOA from 730pm-11pm. Is it worth it to go to this versus go for the entire day when it is open to the public? Will 3 and a half hours be enough time? we also save a total of $73. I suppose there wont be any lines? SO is it possible to do this? Or are we better off braving the public and go for the entire day? We've never been to IOA. Thanks for any advice.

Depending on what the lines will be like for WWoHP, it could be a great evening. If it's really crowded you probably won't get to do a lot but go and see what you can accomplish.

Make sure the entire park will be open before you make a decision. We thought the entire park was going to be open for a private event, but turns out only part of the park will be open. Big convention in small part of the park isn't necessarily better than regular crowds in the entire park.

yes I was wondering the same thing. Hopefully they will be able to tell me that when buying the tickets. If not though, we were thinking a Friday in Oct. the 21st I believe. Maybe that isnt really all that crowded of a time and it might be worth to go for an entire day and spend the extra $73. I dont need to go on the rollercoasters, my daughter will want to, but i can take my 6yr old on the seuss stuff while she does that. And then of course we want Jurassic, Harry P., and Spiderman, P. fury looks cool too.
So is that all possible in 3.5 hours? As long as its all open. Ugh so confusing.

My Sister's company rented out IOA one night a few years ago. All of the major rides were open, and her company also had alot of the food places open - all you could eat for free. She said it was the best time she had ever spent at a theme park. You could ride hulk over and over and never have to wait in a line. I would guess it would depend on if your company is doing their private event like my Sister's company did (all out), or a scaled down version.

Personally, I'd go for the day, take a break in the evening and then head back for the private party. This way, no matter how heavy or light the crowds are, I wouldn't feel rushed to get everything in and I could relax and take advantage of anything they have set up for the party as well as the rides.

Especially if there's an open bar.

;)

That sounds great, although we do not want to spend another $200 for the private event if we already spent that for the day. So its one or the other. But I'm really thinking maybe going for the day might be the better option since it gives us 8 hours versus 3.5. HOpe the crowds wont be bad at that time of the year.

This is a convention event buy out. So I doubt there will be food. There could potentially be I guessing 2,000 ppl at least. But thats just guessing, I'm not sure if there will be a limited number of tickets sold. They wont say yet. And I know thousands of people attend the convention every year.
