The MIL and my mom are traveling with us and are going to give the wife and I a night out this trip. I am a stricly meat and potatoes kind of guy and the wife will only eat chicken. We are not adventerous eaters and some of the restaurant menus I have seen don't look like dishes we would enjoy. Any suggestions as to restaurants to try.

Thanks:smooth:

There are lots of options for (as my husband calls it) "selective eaters" at Disney World, and certainly many that are romantic and lovely.

My first suggestion would be the Yachtsman Steakhouse for the best steak on property (the best steak I have ever had, honestly!). They also have chicken dishes, wonderful salads, and a fabulous wine list.

Another favorite of ours is Artist Point at the Wilderness Lodge. I know the menu can look a little scary (with the Surf and Turf being a buffalo tenderloin and salmon), but my "meat and potatoes only" husband loves the restaurant. They always have a wonderful steak dish, and I know that I have seen chicken on the menu. Again, an incredible wine list. If you are into wines, try the cellar flight (three small glasses that match your dinner selections).

Another place you might want to check out is Citricos at the Grand Floridian. Great food, great wine, and a wonderful atmosphere. Ask about a view of Wishes (fireworks) when you make your reservation.

Artist Point is usually a bit quieter than Yachtsman - I think it is the location more than anything.

Both resorts also have gorgeous grounds to walk after dinner. If you go to Artist Point, stop by and see the geyser in the evening after your meal.

Have a great time, and enjoy your night out together - wherever you choose to eat!

Since getting back from my trip over a week ago, I feel like Ive been overloading this board with this suggestion, but...it was so good, Ill give it again. ;) DH & I picky eaters(Im worse than him) and we had the most amazing meal at Yachtsman Steakhouse. We had the fliet & prime rib(both perfect) so Im not sure about chicken, but the potatoes there were to die for!

We really like Artist Point, I just recommended it in another thread!!! Here's a menu page from another site....

Not extremely exotic. DH had the salmon and I had the grilled beef tenderloin, they were both excellent, you don't have to have the side dish that comes with that dish. Ask for a window seat, it's very nice, more "adultish". Also, I would recommend Le Cellier, pretty basic foods there. These are our "not to miss" places. We don't like "exotic" either. The buffalo sirloin at Artist Point is too exotic for me, but we really enjoy the restaurant and there's enough delicious "regular" food choices. The Berry Cobbler for two is wonderful!!! Le Cellier will have a "noisier" atmosphere but the food is still excellent.

Yachtsman Steakhouse should fill the bill.
Le Cellier isn't particularly romantic.
