We have a LARGE party (16) so not everything will be available. We have breakfast (really brunch) at Tusker House scheduled already, but we need one more table service meal. My friends have deferred to my expertise. we need to stay on the lower budget side, so no signatures or shows (a la HDDR).

I'm trying to decide if we should do another character meal or something else. Right now, I have Ohana booked for breakfast, but i'm also considering WCC or something like that. I feel like two breakfasts might not be as good as one breakfast and one dinner.

Thoughts on what I should consider? What do you consider a must do for first timers? TIA!

If you want to do one breakfast and one dinner and keep it on the lower budget side, I would keep the Tusker House breakfast (great choice) and either do Whispering Canyon dinner (it's SO fun and WL is gorgeous!) or Trail's End dinner (at Ft. W). Ft. W is quite fun to visit. There is a playground right next door, the WDW stables where all the horses live, plus, perhaps, you could look into doing a group wagon ride after dinner which could be a lot of fun. O'hana dinner would also be a lot of fun for a big group. They have live music, coconut races, the limbo, etc. Or, if you can do an in-park restaurant, I would consider Biergarten as you will sit at large communal tables and the musical performance is a lot of fun.

Some possibilities for a larger group of first timers, that would not be a show or signature meal, but entertaining and not another breakfast? I think you were on the right track with Ohana, but I would do dinner. Good food, some entertainment and the ability to set up tables for a large group, although a reservation may be hard to obtain. Other considerations: Boma at AKL, La Hacienca, San Angel Inn, Biergarten, or Tutto Italia in EPCOT. They all have open spaces that could accommodate larger groups.

Biergarten would be perfect. They have many tables for 8. I personally love the place. The food, drinks, entertainment and atmosphere are superb. :)

I think Ohana is great choice but will be hard to get. Teppan Edo at Epcot may be a good option for a group your size, you would be at two tables for 8.

I'm going to second Biergarten. The food is great, awesome atmosphere, fun entertainment and my family loves the food. It's a buffet, so everyone should be able to find something to eat. My son is an incredibly picky eater and we have eaten there almost every trip and he has found more than enough to fill up on. I also feel the price is reasonable for a Disney restaurant.
