Hi everyone : )
ok here is the scoop. My DD used granualted sugar instead of 10X sugar in an attempt to make icing for my birthday cake. So i have a mixture of 4 cups of granulated sugar with 1/2 cup of margarine and 1/2 cup of shortening. It is very nicely whipped:love:. She was beating and beating this combination for quite some time ( I wasn't home at the time) until an older sister realized what she had used.

Anyway.... Does anyone have a dessert recipe i can use some of this in? I know alot of brownie recipes call for 2 cups of sugar and I do have a couple of those. But I was also looking for others if anyone has any.

Thanks a bunch! :upsidedow

I'm sorry I missed this last night. :( If you saved it & still need icing, I have my mother's recipe for "cooked icing" that uses granulated sugar.

Cooked Icing

3 Tbl flour
¾ c milk
¾ c margarine
¾ c sugar
¾ tsp vanilla
Cook flour & milk. Let cool. Combine margarine, sugar & vanilla then beat 4 min. Add to cooked mixture.

Thanks, I did use half of the mixture to make some peanut butter chocolate chip cookies this afternoon. I had to improvise a bit, but they turned out well enough for a bunch of teenagers to eat. LOL That icing recipe sounds good : )
