I need to give my EM a song for the Recessional for my VR in June.

We have a solo violinist.

It can be Disney or Non-Disney. We have a mix in our ceremony. Disney we already are using in ceremony are Beauty & Beast and Whole New World.

We want something light, upbeat and not too slow that would sound good on violin.

Any suggestions?

Thanks, Lisa

You should check out Pachelbel's Canon. It's light, uplifting and it sounds really good on violin. Actually, I like it so much I used it for my own processional.

i'm using zip a dee doo dah (thanks hiwaygirl)

Prelude/Guest Seating: Disney Songs including Kiss The Girl, Part of Your World, Beauty & the Beast, Disney Love Songs

Officant/Grooms/Groomsmen: Can you feel the Love Tonite

Bridesmaids: When You Wish Upon a Star

Bride: Bridal March

Recessional: Zip a Dee Doo Dah

Guest Exit: A Whole New World - Aladdin

:teeth: I feel so flattered!!!

Actually, Zip A Dee Doo Dah sounds wonderful on the solo violinist...and I think it's a perfect recessional:

Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay
My, oh my what a wonderful day!
Plenty of sunshine heading my way
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay

Mister Bluebird on my shoulder
It's the truth, it's actch'll
Ev'rything is satisfactch'll
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay
Wonderful feeling, wonderful day!

For our Intimate we used:
Seating - various Disney and classical
Officiant/Groom - Jesu, Joy
MOH - Trumpet Tune in D (I wanted to use Fuer Elise because it was the first song she (my niece) learned on the piano, but it sounded terrible on violin)
Bride/FOB - Trumpet Voluntary (I really didn't want the traditional Here Comes the Bride)
Recessional - Four Seasons Spring - which was PERFECT! It's so upbeat and just makes you feel like smiling!
Honestly, he could have been playing anything when I walked in, I didn't hear or see or feel anything except my wonderful husband-to-be on the terrace :cloud9:

For the cake cutting reception he played Kiss the Girl, A Whole New World, and Part of Your World, because they all were so perfect for a wedding and to honor my mother  who loved Aladdin.

We used Hornpipe by Handel from his Water Music Suite. :)

I love the electrical parade music. I used that. Loved it. Made me want to dance down the aisle. :goodvibes

We also did the four seasons, spring. It was very nice. Since I used pachelbel for our processional, I didn't want to reuse it. To be honest though, I had no idea that the violinist was even there. I didn't even notice it until we watched the video. So it could have been Zip and I probably wouldn't have cared.

we used the instrumental of some enchanted evening for our recessional & it sounded beautiful on the harp & violin.

Thinking of using "If I Never Knew You" as the processional (not chopping it up as it is a traditional Jewish procession) and "Tour of the Kingdom" for the recessional. Hoping that my cousin agrees to be our violinist!

we too had a solo violinist and used zip a dee dah . you got a friend in me was our second choice

I am using Cannon in D (Pachelbel) for the processional, and When You Wish Upon A Star for the Recessional. The guests will exit on Zip A Dee Doo Dah.

:goodvibes

we had the violin player.. and we used "it's a great big beautiful tomorrow" from the carousel of progress for the recessional... Our kids loved it!
We had "the promise" from Epcot Illuminations for our dance. Everything else was standard disney - the processional was "A dream is a wish your heart makes" .... It was such a lovely day! Best of luck and enjoy the planning!
