On our first nonpark day,we need to return a car at Dolphin 11am.
We would like to try Fantasia mini golf...have late lunch CS somewhere and tour some hotels before ending up at Poly for Ohana ADR 7pm...then back to POP.

Could someone suggest a transportation route for us to take other than buses? Which hotels are worth checking out. My boys love to collect pressed pennies.

Thanks.

From the S/D area, the obvious choices are the other resorts in that area. From S/D you can walk to and/or take a boat to YC/BC and BWI. There are several restaurants to choose from at both locations.

If you are heading to the Poly and don't have park tickets to use, however, you're going to need to take at least one bus ride. Just take the bus from whatever resort you finish up at to the MK. From there you can get to the CR, Poly and GF via monorail, or to the GF and Poly by boat. (There's also a boat from the MK to WL and FW, but that will take you out of direct access to the Poly if you need to get there.) See as many or as few of the MK resorts as you want and mix/match transport if you desire.

(If you have a park ticket to use you can walk/boat to the Epcot IG, go through the park, exit at the main gate and take the monorail to the TTC, then walk to the Poly or take the resort monorail around to the GF and CR. That's the only way to go bus free using Disney transport.)

Going back to POP will require a transfer and at least one bus. If the MK is open (even if it's just for a P&PP, EMH or other night time event), just take the monorail from the Poly and switch to a POP bus there. If the MK is closed and Epcot is open you can walk to the TTC, take the monorail to Epcot and take a bus from there to POP. Otherwise, you'll need to go to any other park that's open or to DTD via bus and switch to a POP bus there.

Okay..this is what I would do. Drop the car at the Dolphin, then head across the street and play some mini-golf. For lunch, I would eat at Picabu downstairs in the Dolphin. It's a nifty spot to eat..kind of like cafeteria style but nicer.
Then, you could tour the other resorts in the area..YC/BC then BW. You can then either walk to DHS or take the boat. Here is where you can make some choices...you could either hop on the bus at DHS that takes you to the front of Epcot and then you can ride the monorail over to the TTC, then transfer to the resort line and check out the GF, CR and return to the Polyesian.
You could hop on a bus to AKL there, at DHS. Check it out, then take the bus from AKL to AK...transfer to the bus to WL. Check that one out, then take the boat from there to MK. From MK, you can take a boat to GF and check it out, then hop on the monorail and check out the CR, then head to the Polynesian for dinner.

Figure out which resorts you really want to see...narrow it down a bit. I would want to check out...WL, AKL, GF, CR, BW. YC/BC are very similar...nice if you have the time. If you can decide on which resorts you just have to see, let us know. We can come up with a more definative route for you.

Our favorite hotel with tons of photo ops for kids is All-Star Movies, never stayed there but have gone to visit all the icons from all our favorite movies. There's something around every corner!

We really want to visit the resorts around the Boardwalk/Beachclub area and then monorail it over to the MK resorts. We have Boma/AKL scheduled on another night. We have stayed at the Allstars before.

What do you think about the timing?

11:00 am Dolphin:return rental car
walk across street to Fantasia Minigolf
1:30 pm walk to Beach Club, lunch: Beaches and Cream
walk to Boardwalk area
4:30 pm bus to Epcot - monorail to TTC
TTC - transfer to MK monorail
5:30 pm tour GF, CR,
7:00 pm Poly/Ohana dinner
8:30-9pm take evening boat ride to MK
transfer bus to POP

Where does the boat at CR go to?

Very interested in the electric water parade? How can I fit it in? Wishes is at 10pm.

Looks pretty good...just be aware that you will have to go to DHS to get that bus to Epcot. There is no bus from BW. Also, Beaches and Cream can have a lengthy wait to get in. You could take the MK bus from BW and hop on the monorail at MK..unless you really want to ride it from Epcot..in that case, get to DHS to get the Epcot bus.
The CR boat runs back and forth between FtW and WL I believe. I don't think the MK boat stops there because you can either walk from MK or take the monorail.
The Electric Water Parade is usually around 9ish....you should be able to get more exact times when you get there.
