Need a new garbage disposal

So my garbage disposal is dead, beyond dead . I have no idea where to start in shopping for a new one , has anyone had to do this recently? I was going to buy one from lowes or home depot and DH said he would install it . Any tips? Brands? They look all the same to me.

I just did this myself. I got one from Home Depot for $100 and it included the sink attachment. It was 1/2 hp.

It should be around $100. The most well known name is In-Sink-Erator.

Just replaced ours. After some research we went with an Insinkerator Evolution Premier. It was $200 at Lowes. Dh and my brother took out the old one and installed the new. We had an Insinkerator before so it was an easy fix. Our old one was a builders model and the cheapest one out there. The new one is a little better model.

Just had the same thing happen to us. Bought the top rated in-sinkerator from Amazon and our friend installed it for us.
