UPDATE 3
Hi everyone,
I came home a little while ago. My DH is staying at the hospital tonight. It was so hard to leave but I was getting worn out. I'm supposed to be getting a good nights sleep but I'm doing a bit of laundry first then I will be back at the hospital first thing in the morning.
There's basically no change in Laura, which I suppose is good. They said she'd be considered past the acute phase of this illness if she did not get any worse for 5 days. Today was day 3. Her double vision seems to be better today too. (My son told her to just tell the doctors she's seeing half of whatever she really sees.)
She's really getting annoyed with all the poking and prodding, and bells and whistles that almost constantly alarm, and she wants me to find a way to "lock the door" so the doctors can't get in.
The test for West Nile Virus came back negative, also a herpes caused infection. Tomorrow we are supposed to get back the other mosquito caused ones but they don't expect them to be positive. I'm nervous about one called "JC" virus they are checking for now. Its a new virus only found in immunosuppressed people. Started with AIDS patients and has now found its way into transplant patients. Apparently that's a bad one too so we hope its negative.
Laura is taking Zofran for her nausea. Sometimes it helps and sometimes it doesn't.
Well I'm feeling very tired so I better go. Thanks again for the prayers and please keep them coming. We feel them working.
((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))) to all you wonderful people.
