Please move if not in correct forum. I'm playing around today with planning.

Here's my "hopeful" situation. It will be 7 adults, one 13 year old and one under the age of 3, and possibly another 13 year old (DS's best friend).

We want to be in the Orlando area for 7 nights/8 days. Instead of checking in and out of a couple of hotels, would like just to book a Disney resort. We are planning on only 4 days of Disney parks, 2 days of Universal and MAYBE 1 day of Sea World/Busch Gardens (haven't gotten that far yet into planning, just a thought bubble right now  ).

I want to purchase only 4 days of Disney tickets but get 7 days of Dining Plan.

So my question is.......Must my Dining Plan match my number of ticket days or my number of hotel days?

Thanks

It has to match your hotel days, so you are in luck! Many AP holders will get the room and just a one day ticket so they can get Free Dining.

Just realize that depending on where you stay you will trying to find non theme park restaurants to eat at to use your credits on the days you aren't in the Disney parks. Not really a problem since there are so many wonderful Resort restaurants, and also the DTD locations.

Thank you for the quick response. I would only plan according to if we'd be in a park that day or not. We went a couple of years ago, and most of our dining plans (during free dining) were outside the parks anyway and at the resorts. Only 3 were in parks.

Will be harder to plan and make ressies for, but trying to get my thoughts stright before making any proposals to the others I hope will get to join us.

:woohoo:

I should probably also add that this is how they HAVE they been doing it. Being Disney, this is subject to change at any time!

Ok,next stupid question. If I want to book Resort stay for say an extra night....what is the latest I can walk into Resort to get my room?

Now we are looking at adding Busch Gardens to our trip. We will be driving from S. Florida, so just a few hours drive, and hitting either SeaWorld, Busch Gardens or Universal for first day, may not get back to Disney resort until later.

Question being....how long am I allowed to wait to check in? Would I be better off going to resort at unthinkable hour to at least pre-check in before we hit ANY park?

I would ask this on the Resorts Board. I am not sure. I would assume as long as you let you know that you can check in in the middle of the night if you need to.

Same advice here....resorts Board may have more info but I would think that as long as you specify late check in you would be okay.

They will hold your room until 2 am. We were considering driving last year and I was worried about loosing our room since we live 16 hours or so away and I called the resorts and that's what they told me, they said they keep in mind that some people are driving and it may take them awhile to get there! Hope that helps!
