Need a little help planning a post AK closing Boma reservation

My wife and I have been trying to plan a good time to go to Boma during our next trip. In the past we have taken the bus to AKL after Animal Kingdom closed. That worked well because Animal Kingdom closed pretty much right around dinner time. Since Animal Kingdom is now open later and we want to have enough time to experience Pandora at night we are thinking about maybe doing a late Boma reservation for after Animal Kingdom closes.

At the moment the park calendar for the first week of December says that Animal Kingdom closes at 8pm. Going by that time what would be a safe reservation time for us to make to make sure we aren't late. Would 8:30 be ok? Or would we be cutting it too close having to deal with the departing crowds and getting a bus to AKL?

Bonus question: Getting back to our resort from AKL...Do we just take a bus to Disney Springs and then get on the bus to our resort?

A taxi or Uber will save you at least an hour or more

Don't forget in December the sunset will be closer to 5 pm. So the park will be dark earlier so you don't have to stay until the park closes if you don't want too. Or you can make the ADR earlier and then take the bus to AK and then bus from AK to hotel. If you are park hopping you can leave the other park, take the AKL bus from that park or uber it from your hotel.

Are you saying it takes at least an hour to get from AK to AKL by bus at the closing of AK?

No, after dinner. Bypass the bus to DS and Uber back to your hotel. Unless DS is in your plan of course
