Need a Little Encouragement

Anyone else have an opinion of what you would do in my situation? I am really torn. Having it reset is a an idea, but I almost think it would look better as a three stone b/c the diamonds are on the small side (.75 carats each) and I also dont know what we would do with the other 2 stones. Thanks again for all your help!

I'm sorry, but I'm reading this and thinking you really do not have your priorities in order. My goodness, my ONLY engagement ring is right around .75 carats and I LOVE it, so much so, it's the only thing I've worn for 25 years! Get over it. If this entire thing is about money and the size of the ring, I'm sorry, but that is just not how to start out a relationship. And my all means do NOT sell the mil's ring. Her offer was genuine and if you don't like it than do not accept her offer.

You know, I see both your points and you are really right. It isnt about the style or size of the ring really, its about the person you love. I guess Ive just had this idea in my head that it shouldnt happen until everything is perfect and Ive known the perfect ring of my dreams for so long. Thanks for the perspective. :)

Maybe you can get that 'perfect' ring for an anniversary down the line.

Just an update ladies, I have decided I will be happy with the 3-stone ring for now because I just can't wait to be engaged and eventually to marry my love. My boyfriend is very happy about this, and so am I. It is a pretty ring, but he wants to get me the ring of my dreams when he is done with school in two years still though! Thanks for helping me realize that it is really not about the ring, its about the love we share. I have no idea when the proposal is going to happen but I am excited that I dont have to wait several years now!

i am in the exact same situation as you are. my boyfriend and i celebrate our 5th anniversary in 2 months and he has no interest in marriage at this point. he's in grad school and has been for the last 5 years, unfortunately he still has 2 years left. i am also in grad school and i have 3-4 years left. i get so frustrated with him for not knowing that he still wants to marry me after dating for 5 years and i sometimes regret moving away from my parents to live with him. he doesn't even have to buy a ring since i want my grandmother's antique tiffany diamond. i don't understand what the big deal about getting married is, since my boyfriend and i already live like a married couple. i just want it to be official already.

i'm sick of hearing about all the girls i went to college with who met their boyfriend's 1-2 years ago and they are all engaged now. i constantly think there must be something wrong with me since we've been together for so long and he still doesn't know that i'm the one.

ok gripe session over. haha. good luck.
