My family is going next week. We already have all of our must-do ADR"s. We planned well. On a Sunday night, my parents are dining at Jiko. That leaves the 5 of us "kids" (all aged 19-22) in MK for the night. I get a CM discount on restaurents after 8:30pm. We will have already seen Spectro and Wishes so eating at that time would be fine. I just called to see if there was anything available. They can give me 2 tables at LTT at 9:05 but she also said their were openings at Plaza. What are everyone's opinions? Should I keep the LTT and just HOPE that we get one table, LTT would not be as much fun split up and it kinda takes away from the family style eating. OR should I just book Plaza restaurant where I can probably get a table for 5???

Well, they are really very different dining experiences, so it depends. I like the Plaza. It's small and intimate, and they have great ice cream. I like the sandwiches too. It's probably my favorite TS in the MK, and I eat there at least one time every trip. But the menu is very small compared to a lot of the TS restaurants and if they put you in the "greenhouse" it can get cramped and noisy. The Plaza really feels like a lunch spot, even if you're eating dinner, due to the items on the menu.

I haven't spent a lot of time at LTT since it went to character meals, but the menu feels more like a dinner menu. I would have everyone take a look at both menus and see which food they prefer. I agree that at a character meal, which is an interactive experience, it would not be as much fun to have the family split. But usually they try to get the tables close to each other, so it might not be so bad.

If it were me, I'd be at the Plaza. But only your family know which one is a better fit for them.

What about hopping over to one of the monorail resorts for dinner like at Kona or Grand Floridian Cafe?

If you have big eaters in your group, I'd suggest LTT as it's all you can eat and based on what I see on the menu from allears, there's a pretty decent variety of food. Also, I think it would be fun for all of you to take pics with the characters - it's a great, cheap souveneir that will always remind you of the great time you had at WDW!
I tend to consider sandwiches to be lunch food, not dinner food, so I'm biased against eating at Plaza for dinner.
Why don't you have everyone take a look at the menus for both restaurants and take a group vote?

Thanks everyone for your help. I'm still working on the decision. It really isn't a case of food for us (haha except my sister). I just didn't want to miss out on the atmosphere of LTT by being separated. I agree with most the Plaza seems more like lunch. I just wish my discount worked earlier in the night. That would give us more options in terms of going somewhere else for dinner. We don't want to lose too much time in EMH! If LTT doesn't work out (Don't worry, I will cancel before this week is over if this is the case!), we'll probably end up stopping at Steak N Shake on the way to the parks :rotfl:
