Need a good surprise idea!

Okay, so the honeymoon is 15 months away but I am always planning ahead and thought it would be fun to get some ideas from the experts. When discussing where we wanted to stay, he expressed that he would love to stay at the POLY but said we should probably stay at WL (our fav) just for expense reasons. As soon as he said that, I said, "Okay, perfect, WL it is!" but in my head my first thought was, "I am SOOO booking the POLY and going to surprise him!" I'm all for saving money, even more than he is, which is why he pretty much thought I would never go for it but hey, it's our honeymoon!

I take care of all the reservations and planning and stuff so I know that he won't find out unless I burst from excitement but I was thinking tonight of how and when I would actually tell him. As clueless as he is, I don't know that once we get to MCO I can hide it anymore when we need to get in the line for the bus to the resort and he goes toward the WL line. First I was thinking I'd tell him I made an ADR for 'Ohana but I don't know if he'd buy that the bus takes you to where you're having dinner. So I'd have to tell him once we get to the airport or sooner.

Now...that's as far as I got. So does anyone have any great ideas on how I can break the great news to him?! I can't wait!

I am doing a surprise honeymoon at the Poly too!

My FI and I are getting married in his hometown of Maine (we live in LA) on August 16. We're paying for the wedding ourselves, so we recently decided to put off a honeymoon until next year. My FI LOVES disney. I do too, but he is just in love. We have been going every summer, but after last summer's trip we decided to do Disney every other summer so we could travel to other places. Here comes the fun part! I've booked a surprise honeymoon to disney!

We are using frequent flyer miles to get from LA to Maine. When we decided to put off the honeymoon until next summer, I told FI that next summer was supposed to be our Disney summer, but we'd have to give it up for the honeymoon (Europe) and he was so bummed! I decided to call Delta to see if we could add a leg onto our flight without having to pay more $ or miles and we could! So I booked a flight from Maine to Orlando instead of going straight home to LA! And it's all first class! Then, I got a great rate at the Polynesian so I booked it right away.

My godmother has a condo in Fl, so I have "surprised" him by telling him that we're taking a few days to spend time at cocoa beach before we head home. My plan is when we get to the Orlando airport and head down to "pick up the rental car" (which is in the same place as the magical express) I am going to suggest that we go to Disney instead! I can't wait to see his face!


I was thinking... magical express has the same bus for the WL and the Poly (I think) you could even get in the WL line and then when it stops at the WL you could tell him that you're not getting off? But, I suppose that might be difficult with luggage... What about having a gift basket in the room or having the room decorated -- those are things I am considering as well.

You could also arrange for a personalized menu at some of the restaurants -- I know the coral reef does that and the diver will even hold a congratulations sign!
