Hi all,

Aiming to book our holiday for next year, just wondered if anyone has any thoughts about costings...

Overall, we need: 19th March 2013, economy Virgin flights from LGW 17 nights, Caribbean Beach Resort in 2 standard rooms, 2 adts and 1 child age 6 in each, 1 x 7 seater mini-van thing with platinum insurance (4 drivers), 21-day WDW tickets and the Regular Dining Plan.

I can do the hotel, tickets and dining plan, with WDTC for £7516.
I can get a flydrive through Kenwood Travel for £4877.

I'm not sure whether to book the flydrive, or just book the accommodation then wait for flight only to come out? Given that this is Easter, what are the chances of us getting 4 adults and 2 children, plus the mini-van and insurance, for £4877? That seems quite steep to me and I would think I could find cheaper flights - but its been a while since I booked Florida.

Any thoughts appreciated...

Thanks in advance,
Rachel

My thoughts are(if I have my figures right) £158/night/room + £22/nt to upgrade to DDP, that is a lot of money for a moderate resort.

Is offsite not an option? I would budget approx half that for an offsite room and offsite dining.

OKW this August is costing us £118/nt incl DDP. £180(£158+£22) in a moderate seems wrong but I just checked again, I think I have it correct.

Does it need to be CBR? It is £200 more expensive per room that the other mods.

Also all the other moderates will have queen size beds (CBR only has doubles)

Doesn't look like prices have been released for OKW/SSR yet but might be worth checking for.

Thanks Wayne and Elise, I know what you mean - it does seem stupid money for a low-end moderate, but I've looked at the others and for what we all want on this particular trip, the CBR is way more perfect than any of the other resorts. Its even more suitable than the deluxe, for this trip. I did think about doing OKW/SSR instead because of the value, but we would be upgrading for the sake of upgrading - and not actually getting what we want. Its been hard to accept this, as it goes against common sense, but its what we want and that is how much it costs.

We've now booked the accommodation package and will wait for flight-only to come out next month.

Thanks again!

We stayed at CBR a few years ago, the resort is beautiful and the counter-service dining choices are vast! The pool has been upgraded since our visit, it looks lovely. We loved our stay at CBR, had no complaints! Enjoy your planning!
