We are planning to go to Disney in July and I will be 6 months pregnant with 2 children in tow. I know it wil be very hot! Do the neck bands that you soak in water really work? Are they worth purchasing? Any other suggestions would be helpful thanks a bunch.:flower:

There are crytallized beads in them that turn into a gel-like liquid when soaked in water. They do keep you cool for a while. The problems we had with them are wehn you dont want to use them after they first have been activated. Do not put them in a ziplock! They don't recover well with the humidity in the baggie. They need to be layed flat and let to dry. Ours got clumpy and didnt' work as well after the first time.

I used them for the first time last August. And it was HOT AND HUMID!!! They were the best things I ever bought. You can re-wet them as the day goes by. Have fun!!!

I use them when I am doing gardening but like the OP said , what do you do with them when you are not using them. They are bulky and you have to lay them flat to dry and redistribute the little beads that are in them. I would say to try to purchase those mister fans from Walmart before you go. They are only a few dollars at Walmart but big bucks when you get to the parks.

I used to do some outside test driving for a company I used to work for and we used them alot! I'm talking 95 degrees with a very high humidity in July and August. The neck bands were very soothing and refreshing! They only last for about an hour or two at the most though and then you will need to rewet it.

We found that the kitchen spritzers that Pampered Chef sells (about $10) are wonderful for Disney in July. They are small and fit in a fanny pack; you fill about half way with water and then pump air into it with the cap before you spray. The water they spray is a fine mist and really cools you and the kids off and it's not heavy to lug around.
