Hi guys - happy new year.

First of all - I sat down last night and read diswolves's trip report - amazing!! Thanks. This really whet my appetite to really plan for our trip this summer.

Problem - August's hours aren't out yet, but July's are. So, in your opinion, is the pattern of EMH likely to be the same for the first 2 weeks in August as the last 2 weeks in JULY. If so, I can sort of plan ADRs even though I cant make them yet!

Also, is there anyone who can check plane configuration.? We are flying out 30th July from MAN. Our TA says it's an old plane and has the four of us on a middle row, if it's a new plane we'd rather change to 2 twos on the window! I can't access the booking as it's held with the TA!!

I'm already very excited!

MfP

Glad you nearly there, aug ours might be out when you bit your 180 mark to do adrs

Get your ta to give you the ref number for the airline and call them and see what plane etc or see if you can log into their online seat booking system

It's hard to say without knowing which airline you're supposed to fly

4 seats in the middle and old plane just tells me boeing 747
newer plane maks me think of an airbus A340 which provides both 4 seats in the middle, and double seats on the window.

it will also depend if you fly economy, or premium economy, or whatever your airline calls cabin classes.

The question you have to ask yourself is : "do I need to see what's going on outside, (take off, landing, see the clouds, the ocean, etc) or is it totally irrelevant to me ?"
If you go with kids, a window is probably preferable, as they like to see what's going on, and 2 windows is preferable if you have more than one kid (no fighting over window seats)
If it's all about adults who'd be glad with inflight entertainement alone, then middle row is ok

but both 747 and 340 are great planes to fly a transatlantic.

are you on the VA075 at 11 am from Manchester..if you are then its the A330-300
Just went on VA to have a look and it just throw that flight at me, maybe another same day though and if so then it may well be the B747.:)

the VA flight going out from Man is a two four two configuration. Our return flight coming home is a 3 4 3.

As someone has said, get your flight locator number from your TA and then go to the VA website and go into manage my booking.

When you put your name in you have to put your first names together like this

janesarah, if you have a middle name.

For some reason, I can't retrieve my booking. The ref number given to me by the TA was 6 letters and digits long ... I think it's because it's not fully paid for yet....
