Nearby Grocery Stores

Planning on swinging by a grocery store to pick up supplies on our way to BLT. Is there a full-service grocery store (i.e., with a produce, meat, bakery section, etc., not just a market) near there that people can recommend? We need to order a birthday cake that we'd be picking up at the time as well, so a place that does that sort of thing would be a must.

There are a couple- Goodings which is near Downtown Disney,(SR 535) and Publix which is across the street from the Premium Outlet mall.

We prefer Publix over Goodings as they seem to be less over-priced.

If you're coming from DTD and going to Goody's... If you take a left at the light that leads into the Goody's parking lot and go about a mile, there's a Winn Dixie on the right.

If you're over on the AKV side, there's a Super Target on 192 about 3-4 miles from the light leading into AKV. My wife sniffed out that Target from the balcony of our SAVANNA view room the first time we stayed there. Swear to God.

What roads do you take to get to WDW? There is a super Walmart on 535 that will probably have birthday cakes you can have personalized and I also seem to remember the bakery at Winn Dixie having cakes. Winn Dixie also has a liquor store in the same parking lot if that is of interest to you. You should be able to go on their website and get directions from where you are coming.

We've gone to the Winn Dixie several times. It is a full service grocery with bakery, etc. You can even fill out the customer rewards card application (or whatever you call it) and use that card right then to save on prices.

Definitely stay away from Goodings. They seem to have more souvenirs than groceries and are WAY overpriced. We go to either the Winn Dixie or Publix. Someone mentioned the liquor store in front of Winn Dixie. Someone said on a thread not too long ago that the store (ABC Liquor) had a fire, not sure if its reopened.

we have been going for many years now and have tried Goodings, Walmart, and Publix. Last week we went to Winn Dixie and that is where we are staying!!! And yes, the ABC liquor store in front of it is open.

Go to Google Maps and enter Publix near 32830 to find the location of all the Publix near Walt Disney World. Click on the one you want and get directions.

This same tip works for just about anything. Want to know the nearest Pizza place? Just substitute Pizza for Publix. How about Walmart? Same thing.

Also - stay away from Goodings. Really poor selection and prices. They are merely taking advantage of their location and hoping people won't realize how many other options there are nearby.

Haven't mapped it out just yet, but we'd be coming west from Cocoa Beach.
