We're a family of four, two small kids (DS4 and DD6). We're extremely fond of having a separate bedroom for the parents and children (to facilitate naps and differing bedtimes.) We're quite fond of the ability to make a quick meal while on vacation. We absolutely insist on taking a mid-day break away from the parks.

It seems as though there are a few condo properties that might fit our needs and give good value for the dollar. The trick is, the property *must* be conveniently located. It looks like Windsor Palms is one such property. Are there others that folks would recommend? Thanks!

We stay off site for the same reasons you listed. Have you considered Cypress Pointe Grand Villas, Vistana Village or Vistana Resort. All are close - within a 15 minute drive to the parks.

I highly recommend Windsor Palms. We stayed there in November and it was wonderful.

Other things to consider - booking a 2-bed unit through Skyauction. We've got one booked in 6-weeks at Orbit One. We're paying $261 for the week!

Another option is to rent a house. You can get a 3-bedroom pool home for not much more than a 2-bed condo. You'll have more space, one more bedroom and your own pool.

I would recommend the Sheraton Vistana Resort - really easy to get to/from DW from there. Also, lots of things for kids to do.

We just got back from a week (and one extra day due to Frances) at Embassy Resorts at Grand Beach. It was on the corner of roads 535 and 536. I'd highly recommend it.

There are a lot of properties that fit your description. Look at vrbo.com and search in the Kissimmee section. Check the last minute calssified listings for specials.

silver lake is pretty close too

so is Westgate - see other posts for Westgate - however if you can avoid the sales people - every hard here - they are everywhere.....the resort itself is very nice. but only stay here if your other options are gone.

if you have the money the Marriott in MWC - are very nice

there can show up on skyauction since there owners belong to both RCI and II - I think one did once - they aren't called Marriott - just the last part of the name - because of Marriott contract with II.

Thanks for all your help. Much to my surprise, I have an uncle who just bought an Orlando vacation home, which he then rents out through a management company. He's giving me the proverbial "family discount." One less decision to make!
