I am looking for a golf course near Disney. We will be In DL frist week In July and would love to play a round of golf. We are staying at the Candy cane Inn,and will not have a car,so I would have to use a taxi so as close as possiple would be great. Also If there Is a near by Driving range would be great to.:goodvibes

Hit the library and check out the Offical Guide to Disneyland. They list about 4-5 golf courses in the area. :surfweb:

If you happen to be military or retired there's a nice Navy course in Los Alamitos - not that bad a trip.

How much do you want to spend? I'll ask my golf fiend husband tonight.

The Dad Miller course is fairly close by (about 4 miles), and as it says it was a course that Tiger Woods frequented during high school. I'm not a golfer, so can't say if it's actually that good of a course.

Ya I seen on the Disney web site thanks. But as you know If you live In a city 10 min to someone that lives there may be 20 min someone just visting. So with me takeing a taxi,I did not wanty to get taken around for a uneccery tour:rotfl2:

My husband says that Tustin Ranch is the nicest "close" course - but expensive. Anaheim Hill is not quite as nice but less expensive.
He mentioned Dad Miller too but it's more of a begginners course and very busy ( cheapest ). I'm pretty sure they have a driving range.

None are all that close. I've found cheap 1 day car rentals on Hotwire before off-airport - like $20 a day cheap. You might consider looking for something like that- a taxi will add up quickly. At least one OC taxi company I've used before does let you enter your origination and destination and give you a fare estimate.

Yep Tustin ranch does cost a couple of dollars, but I play the WDW courses so ticket shock Is not all that new to me. Its actually funny,at home I turn my nose up at courses that cost more then 50.00$ but when I am on vacation(at Disney) I will gladly drop 200.00 bucks on a round:scared1::confused3. So If your husben might know off hand how far mile wise the course Is from Disney?.

Here's another web link listing area courses, with star ratings and distance "from the center of Anaheim", which isn't too far from DLR. I'm not sure who comes up with the star ratings, but it's a start...

THanks great link. You know I thorught I check this last Month, but It did not have this many choices? maybe It was a diffrent site. But thanks I think I will be able to get something from these.:goodvibes

I think the top two choices by looking at this would have to be willwick and river view. There both seem the closest even dads would work out fine.Thank you to all for the Input:thumbsup2

I said Willowick to my husband and he said 'yech' - note the comment from a reviewer about the location -it's right next to a freeway and in a bad neighborhood.

Of the 2, he prefers River View.

He is an addict. I do Disney, he golfs.

Just take the phone # of a local company with you - cabs don't drive around looking for fares in LA - you call them and they're readily available (bored to tears probably ). I think this is the one I've used for the airport: http://www.cayellow.com/
they have a fare estimator on the site.

When we can drag my DH to DLR with us, he usually takes time out to golf. :) If you don't mind spending the $$, Strawberry Farms is a nice course. http://www.strawberryfarmsgolf.com/rates/

He says it was decent and about the same distance as Pelican Hills. Pelican Hills is really, really expensive but AWESOME! He usually rents a car from the Alamo rental right in Downtown Disney and that works out for him.

This sounds familiar. ;) LOL.

Hope that helps.
