NBC Overlay Lovers !

I have yet to see it, but this thread got me even more excited!

OK, I just arrived home and all I can say is it is AMAZING!!!!!!!!! You will ALL love it. Disneyland looks fabulous with all the Halloween decorations. What a great night!!!! I love living 20 minutes away!!!

All right, I guess I'm one of the eeevil ones from the other thread because I stated I was 'tired' of the theme, which is true, but that doesn't mean I hate it! If I hated it, I wouldn't ride it at all and would avoid it entirely! In truth, there are parts I look forward to, and probably the one at the very top of the list (sorry for repeated opinions) is the life-sized Jack in the graveyard! No offense to Don Knotts, the caretaker, but seeing Jack makes me grin every time!

So, that's that. I'm like 'meh' to it now having seen it since December, 2001 (yes, the theme has been around that long, in fact it actually started in October, 2001!), so that's why my opinion was it's tiresome to me. But, I still love NBC! It's one of my favorite holiday movies, promise! Peace.

It may have been around for that long, but for my family, its become a tradition and my DKs actually like it more with then without OL.
Ive been known to start dragging the Christmas boxex out while waiting for Trick or Treaters so blending my two fave holidays is awesome!

BTW, I LOVE the pumpkin headed angel choir and all the snowy stuff. I think its pretty.
I did not know until these threads that it was a real gingerbread house and thay change the design each year. Will have to start looking more closely!
And thanks for the wrapping paper tip WL,Didnt know that either.

Did anyone go last night? How was it ?

I LOVE the angel choir as well. On the extras on NBC Collector's Edition they said originally the angels were supposed to pump out cold air, but they couldn't get it to work so they just left it as is. I know its a bit of a stretch, but when I see it I think of Edward Scissorhands when he is sculpting the angel ice sculpture. That would be so amazing if there were bits of white snow floating. Sigh, I love Tim Burton.

Yeah, I love NBC. It's one of my favorite movies EVER. I love the ride overlay, too. My favorite is the graveyard party. It's so beautiful!

Any more news about Sally and Jack meet-n-greets? I think my DD and her BFF will totally pass out with excitement if this comes true.

We're getting so excited to go! NBC is the main reason we are taking this trip!

...Yes, I am VERY excited about my trip next week (in 6 days - yay! ) because I thought it wouldn't happen. You appreciate things so much more when they are fought for! But I won't believe it is happening until I actually GET there and set foot in the hotel! Even up until now, this very minute, it has been a roller coaster of sudden setbacks and disasters that almost made me cancel my plans a few times. Then, something good would happen to make it seem possible, and everything was okay, until something bad happened again to make me almost cancel. I THINK I am in the clear now and that it should all be okay for the next week, but things have been very unstable the last few months, and I am tearing my hair out over it!

And it is in MY head, too! Disneyanajc, Oh, thank you so much! I just noticed this post and saw my name - I don't know how long it has been sitting here and I didn't see it! I am so honored that the "Fab Five" (and you) took the time to sing a song on my behalf - and so humorously, too! You know that tune will be stuck in my head for the rest of the night, but I have a big smile on my face!!! (You can imagine the fun people used to have singing when my friend, Mandy, and I used to hang out together. Nobody knew which song to sing first, "Sherry" or "Mandy")!

And yes, there were a few moments where it looked like this trip was not going to happen - to be honest, even up to this very second, it has been precarious. But I THINK I am in the clear now, and being on DISboards has helped so much because I have picked up all kinds of good info and tips over the course of this year from everyone on here. So I will happily go to our beloved DLR in a few days, and make mental notes of everything I have to report back on or take pictures of for the boards, so I can contribute something like everyone else here does!

Last years gingerbread house was a jack in the box themed house and it had jack's face and two other figures 'bouncing' with springs underneath them. It was quite amazing because I have NO idea how they did it !

this year's gingerbread house is a coffin with a gingerbread man inside that sits up when the lid opens. Best one yet! And they shoot the smell of ginger bread out so you smell it.

Also, not sure if its new, but when you leave the elevator into the hallway, they have characters outside the first window. I never noticed that before.
