NBA will stay at GF, YC, & CSR (Gran Destino)

The question is.... If the NBA does get to use the pool, but DVC does not, Will they reimburse you the portion of dues that paid for SAB ??

I think if the pool is closed to DVC guests, then they will not be billed their share for that time.

I think that is why it didn’t open up now. Disney wasn’t paying with no guests, I am not sure that DVCM would have the authority to agree to pay full shot on behalf of owners either

We already know owners will have at least 3 months of reduced expenses at the resorts....how that will play out in the end with increase safety measures, we don’t know.

ETA: They are sending guests to BWV though..so who knows if BCV owners have to cough up for that.

While this NBA arrangement is a plus for Disney, I am glad I won't be back to WDW until the end of Oct, which by then the NBA will have left.
hopefully, you're not in the Swolphin area late Oct, as that's when the Gartner IT Symposium is (10/18 - 22). After a few years of the Gartner locusts, we check their agendas & book to avoid being there at the same time The Symposium is HUGE, and brings in a lot of money, as we have been repeatedly told. Unfortunately, many of the attendees' behavior lacks simple manners & any sense of decorum: they are often extremely demanding (just ask any CM who has been borne the brunt of their verbal abuse), rude (pushing people out of their way to enter restaurants, bars, etc), & overall, incredibly entitled.
fyi, we've chatted with some lovely, well-mannered people who were at other conventions - Gartner is just a great example of adults behaving badly (thankfully, they don't spend much time in the parks)

Yeah, it seems pretty tangled up.

Maybe a better question would be, if it's safe enough for the rest of us, why isn't it safe enough for them? ;)

Because their jobs depend on them being 100% committed to following the guidelines. You really think guests are going to do that?

I don't really understand why people are worried about it. Their hotels will be inaccessible by the general public. Players won't be allowed to mingle with the public. They won't be visiting theme parks. There won't be any fans allowed in the game, thus no secondary impact on crowds or traffic in the Disney area.

IMO, to the average Disney guest it's going to be less of a disruption than cheerleaders, pop Warner football, Brazilian tour groups, school field trips and the like.

It would seem to be a minimal impact for DVC stays. There are some unknowns such as how GF dining and monorail access will work, and for BCV wondering if the NBA gets exclusive SAB access.

Cash guests with a booked stay in any of the NBA hotels will have a big impact.

otherwise, the NBA just added another layer of unknown on top of the previous, huge Covid ball of unknowns.

They have guaranteed the teams a protective bubble. I don't imagine there will be any cash guests in those hotels. Definitely not Gran Destino and Yacht Club.
