NBA Experience Questions

Do you have to buy tickets ahead of time for the NBA Experience or can you just decide "let's go after dinner," head up, and buy tickets?
Is there usually a long wait to get in after you buy tickets?
Also, how long (average) does it take to complete the experience?

Thanks!

You can buy tickets there. I don't believe there are ever long waits to do so. How long it takes you likely depends on how much time you want to spend doing the activities.

As rteetz said, you can just show up and buy tickets. We've been twice, but only at opening and the second time there was a huge line because they were having software issues and delayed the opening by about 20 minutes. I haven't been in the afternoon or evening, so I'm not sure what kind of wait times you'll encounter. Just know, there are also lines for the "experiences" unfortunately. It took us about 1 1/2 to do the whole thing last time, but that was with not repeating anything.

Just curious if either of you remember how low the hoop could be lowered on the DUNK experience? Could a 6 year old participate?

I don't remember how low it goes, but there were children of all ages there the last time we went in December. If you can't get the hoop low enough, the 6 year old could still attempt lay ups and jump shots on the hoop or even just dribble on the court. The dunk court is basically just a very small court.

Thank you!!

I watched a video on this, and the guy in the video was swiping a Magic Band for certain things. We are heading to Orlando tomorrow for a Universal only trip, but might hit Disney Springs and the NBA experience. Should i be bringing our magic bands along? We don't have any active tickets or passes. Would they still work for this?

Someone who has first hand knowledge might have better insight, but my guess is that you don't "need" magic bands. If you don't have one, they will issue you some sort of pass when you buy your ticket there, which is probably what you would use if you need that inside. You wouldn't be the only one that goes there without a magic band, I'm sure.

I figured as much. But we do enjoy the simplicity of holding your arm up to the reader, rather than pulling a ticket out each time, especially when going through and doing a bunch of station-like setups.

In that case, couldn't hurt to take them with you! Have you already purchased the tickets? I got mine ahead of time and they already show up in my MDE account. If you're going for a more "spontaneous" route, then just bring the bands with you when you go!
