Navigating the My Disney Experience (MDE) Web Site and App

Does anyone know when this will be available for the Windows phone?
I was hoping before our trip in August, but Windows versions always seem to be the last ones available (if at all)

Other than this article almost a year ago (http://attractionsmagazine.com/blog/2012/07/30/disney-parks-to-launch-my-disney-experience-apps-for-iphone-ipad-and-android/) I've not heard a thing about it. I imagine it would have to wait until all the kinks are worked out of the iOS and Android apps, and everything MyMagic+ is ready to go full speed. I doubt they want to keep updating more than two apps during the tesing and development phase.

About Me: Edit your Name, Profile Character, Birth Date, and Affiliations (including DVC and Annual Passholders)

When I access "About Me" on the website, it will not let me add an AP affiliation. The only option is DVC.

It's frustrating because I'm trying to purchase MNSSHP tickets. When I select AP pricing, it says, "If you are an Annual Passholder, please update your profile to see if special products and prices are available." The update profile link, however, merely takes me back to the "About Me" page. Why tell me to do something (update profile) if I can't actually do that?

Because the OP seems to say this is possible, it seems as if I'm doing something wrong. Any suggestions?

Looks like something has changed on the website. After clicking "Add Affiliation" the drop down box should offer the AP option as well as DVC. I actually don't see any option in the drop down, maybe because I already have DVC linked.

My guess is that this is a temporary issue that they are working on. You might be better off calling at this point.

Similar problem here. I spoke to a CM by phone and was told that it may be getting worked on. :sad2:

Word is that another round of MyMagic+ testing will take place in late June. Including FP+, Touch to Enter, and Touch to Pay. Maybe we should start a pool as to the date that this will all officially go live for the first guests.

Guests are reportedly being pre-selected from those staying at AKL or CR on June 20th, 21st, or 22nd. At least one DISer has been selected.

This looks to be the first full-power guest test, so hopefully we'll get some more details then.

Oh! I check out of AKL on the 21st.... Would love to test!

Apparently it is only for those checking IN on those dates. Plus other restrictions - doesn't include DVC check-ins, etc.

Bummer

How would you know if the park you are in has the free Wi-Fi? Is there a password? I'm just starting to look at this app and I leave in 12 days.. eek.

Can anyone offer a cliff notes version (I know, I should read all 46 pgs here but I'm not sure I'll get to it).. like, is this worth worrying about and using?

All parks have WiFi. If your device has it enabled, it will likely detect the signal automagically. Just sign in, no password.

All parks have it. I believe it is called "Disney-Guest". You just connect to it. I don't recall any "sign in" page, but if there was, it's just a "click here" type thing.

Whether it works consistently or not is another matter. I ended up shutting it off in the parks as it was draining my battery trying to constantly reconnect.

As for cliff notes, the only thing it is really going to give you in the next 12 days is attraction wait times and FP return times. :)

I have an IPad and I had to go into my settings, I opened my wifi connections and it said Disney Parks wifi. I also used that connection outside of our room. Your room has a different connection. No password needed.

A few updates of things I've been trying to track...

Canadian users might find this thread interesting if you haven't found it already: My Disney Experience for International Members: Important Notice

So there's a new iOS app version available this morning. 1.3.4. Not for Android??? I don't see a lot different, but I was finally able to delete a friend profile from my Family and Friends section. Previously, it told me I had to remove that person from reservations before deleting her, even though those reservations were in the past.

I've tried to do the same on the website where I had the same problem, but so far this morning I'm not able to access my profile page.

The friends that I've been trying to delete from my list have spontaneously disappeared. Hopefully that issue is fixed for good now.

The "Add Affiliation" button is now completely gone from the Profile edit page. I still see my DVC account there, but no apparent way to add an AP if I were to buy one. Not sure where they're going with this one.

Looks like this is now scheduled for June 20-26. An article I read (Largest test to date of MyMagic+) states that "As with previous tests, guests will be able to preselect three FASTPASS+ experiences via the My Disney Experience app or website." I'm really interested in learning how that's possibe. Will certain guest's MDE accounts be enabled to see new features that are not available to the rest of us at this time?

Yes, the test runs the 20th-26th, but the testers need to be checking in on the 20th-22nd.

There was another thread it which the DISer explained what they did. but I've also seen on the web site where you'll be able to do it, it just wasn't active for me. I forget offhand where it was. Edit: Looks like they changed it again. I've got a reservation within 60 days and have done online checkin, but the options aren't there like they were for my last trip.

Just got my purchased tickets via UPS today. Looks like I got 3 Adult Admission Cards and 1 Child Ticket...

The access cards don't have a barcode on them and the IDs are different: 12-digit for the Admission card vs. 17-digit for the ticket... That's the only way I was able to tell them apart.

Can anyone tell me whats the difference between the two and why the MDE site separates them out?

I was able to link the admission cards to the appropriate family members on the MDE site but when I enter the child ticket ID into the site, it only shows me as a choice to link the ticket to, not my son. How can I get it to link to my son?

The info it provides as to why I can't see my son as an available person is:

" Why Can't I See Everyone in My Family & Friends List?

Only Guests who qualify to participate in Disney's Magic+ are eligible to be matched to paperless tickets or passes. Your Family & Friends listed here are currently eligible for Disney's Magic+."

Not sure I understand this reason... I was able to link an admission card to my daughter no problem...

There is no reason to try and link your tickets in MDE at this time. There are probably still a host of issues to be worked out with it.

I'm curious what you mean by "access cards" vs. "child ticket". What is the difference? Were these direct from Disney?

You're probably right about more issues needing to be worked out.

Sorry. Just checked the MDE Site again. The correct term is Admission Card. When you click on "Link Existing Reservations and Tickets", you are presented with 4 options. Link Resort Reservation, Link Dining Reservation, Link Ticket or Pass, Link Admission card.

When clicking on the Link Admission card, it presents you with a field to enter the card ID. on the right is a Sample Pic of an admission card with 12 digits for ID.

I assume the Admission Cards are the RFID Cards as they have a small square indentation on the top right side of the card as if there is a chip in it.

The ticket does not have any such square indentation.

These were purchased through TICKETSATWORK.com They provide corporate discounts for tickets, travel, etc... for corporate employees.

Question, Since I had already linked the Admission Cards to the accounts, is there any way to see them linked in MDE? Or is there any way to unlink them?

I'll wait for a while before trying to link the child ticket again...
