OK, fess up - which have you been?

List what's on your Wish List here!

Maybe someone will see it, and if you've been nice, well ... :santa:

Naughty, so I guess Santy won't be putting that new D300 in my stocking.

My New Year's resolution was to be a nicer person (nicer in the sense that I am a little overly sarcastic and have a little too short of a temper (according to DH anyway)) and I think I've done a very good job. Regardless, I don't think I'll be getting the things on my wish list...maybe one or two but you bet I'll be buying those for myself. :goodvibes

- Sigma 30 1.4 (the one I'll be buying)
- 105mm Micro
- 10.5 mm Fisheye
- Sigma 10-20mm (newly added to my list - thanks, Quicklabs!) ;)
- D90 body
- Sturdier tripod
- New monitor (another thing I'll be getting myself)
- External hard drive

.......does the list ever end? :confused3 In my few short months with a DSLR, I'm starting to get the feeling the answer is no.

Well here's hoping that Mrs. Y cuts you some slack this year.

Hmm, Santa's going to need an extra roomy bag just for you. :crowded: :rotfl:

Actually, MrsY *strongly* encouraged me to pull that trigger and I did so, about a month ago. Felt guilty and returned it to B&H the next day. How dumb is that???

Well, I've acquired a D300/grip and a 70-200 f/2.8VR earlier this year. I think Christmas has long since come and gone for me. :rolleyes:

Erm. I was nice, but like the pp, I think Christmas may have already come. I got an XSI, a 75-300, a Tamron 28-75, and a nifty, not counting my bag and my tripod and my extra battery and memory and hoods and filters. . .

but, if Santa thinks I was REALLY good, I would love to have a flash. And a bracket. And a better tripod and an external hard drive and and and. . .

CAS strikes again. :rotfl:

Guilt is something for the other person to feel...:thumbsup2

I think I've been nice. I've certainly been doing less business travel than last year, and so had more time at home to help DW with the kids.

Given that I have to pay for a trip to DisneyWorld (somewhere north of £6000) and my Summer School next year, I think it would be awfully selfish to ask Santa for any more than one of:

* Canon 40D
* Canon G10
* Sigma 10-20mm for my EOS350D

But which one? I wish I could make my mind up...

regards,

Well, I've been nice. But the economy has been rather naughty. I would love some lighting equipment. But I think I will ask for a few lighting books and a reflector instead and learn how to better use the flash unit I do have.

You have probably know this better than I do, but just in case you haven't been there, www.strobist.org is normally cited as the source for all wisdom on getting good lighting out of flashguns.

I would like to have an external flash and tripod--We got the Nikon D-60 earlier this year. After that, lenses!!!

I'd like to purchase my first SLR (Rebel XTI) before the holidays! i've been good....:D

Thanks. I'm a frequent visitor to that site. What I'm not sure about yet is whether it is OK to mix Vivitar flashes with a Nikon unit. They guy at the camera store said to never do that due to white balance issues. But, others seem to have success with mixing units. Is the white balance issue really a practical issue or just a theoretical issue?

I understand the concern, but where I am is that I have a load of old strobes lyign around. I'll start off using what I have, and if I start to see problems that bother me, I'll think about buying matching kit...

I think some would say that I ain't been so good this year. In fact I'm sure of it. :scared1:

Doesn't matter though. I won't have the $$ for a wishlist because I'll be on a cruise then. I hope everyones wishlists get filled!

I've been super nice this year. But, I did just recently get a Canon 70-200 f2.8, so my Christmas gift will probably consist of some new socks and underwear!

Well, x-mas wont have much for me under the tree this year (nor for DW for that matter).

We just spent $800 to add soundproof walls to the bedroom we're moving into. Then my Corolla needed $1400 in repairs this week. The mini-van will need $800 or so in repairs in the spring. We also need to buy a new dining room table.

If I even think of mentioning something for my photography hobby DW will either laugh at me and walk away or I'll get smacked for being dumb. Though I may be able to get a magazine. Maybe even one of the UK mags. You know, the $12 ones.

HA, I feel your pain. Last week I had two big scares. Tuesday my car wouldn't start (it's a 2000 - DH's 2009 is doing just fine :rotfl: ) and I swore it was going to either A. be something hundreds upon hundreds of dollars or B. be a complete piece of junk and I needed a new car. The second happened after eating a runt (one of those hard fruit shaped candies) at our office Halloween party. I broke a molar up to the nerve while eating a banana and it'll be about $600 out of my pocket that dental insurance won't cover. :scared1: All because of a piece of compacted sugar.

In all seriousness, I will probably buy myself something with any money/gift cards I get for Christmas...but not even a fraction of what I would like. We are giving small gifts to family this year so we can sponsor a family at a local Homeless Organization for Christmas. It would be just a littttttle hypocritical of me to tell everyone "I can't buy you fancy expensive gifts because this family needs diapers" and then run out drooling like a crazy person to the local camera store (although I can do it in the privacy of my own home on Amazon.com....hmmmmmm ;) )
