Natural Gas Smell

Everytime I visit WDW, I always get a whiff of natural gas near splash mountain. Usually its right under the train station area in the lower section right before the splash mountain attraction. Has anyone else noticed this? Also, does anyone know what the gas is being used for? Must be a major pipe or a major leak.

You know I smelled it too! I almost mentioned it to someone, but I didn't and maybe I should have. We just came back Saturday and it's still there.

I also smelled it this past trip. I assumed it was from BTMR, isn't there some flames in it?

I have always smelled it around Big Thunder, especially when you are on the train.

I would wager that you caught a whiff of the wind passing JUST right and it was the smell of garbage coming from the huge buildings located right behind Splash Mountain.

natural gas has an orderant added to it it smells like rotting eggs, Right in the location your talking about is where the trash vac dumps. I have done the back stage tour and it smells bad esp around back.

I've been told the gas odor comes from the fuel used to heat the water on the WDW Railroad steam trains above.

That said, please see my standard disclaimer, below.

Nope. The AVAC terminus is on the other side of Splash Mountain (behind the Frontierland Parade Gate).

Your correct its right where I thought it was, I just forgot exactly where the train station was. LOL
