National's EA available cars at LAX

Has anyone used National's Emerald Aisle service at LAX lately? Is there any chance of getting a car larger than an intermediate? I know at Disney World they usually have larger cars on the Emerald Aisle, but I don't have any experience at LAX. I really need a full size car for 5 people, but the rate is much lower for the EA intermediate. I'm trying to decide whether to take a chance with EA in hopes of being able to get a full size. Any advice?

Until our November trip. But, we are firm believers in renting the size you can live with. We've been double upgraded and triple upgraded etc.... but, i've also had upgrade coupons and never received my upgrade. We just no longer count on them. Crowds there are so unpredictable. And because there are often conventions etc. going on sometimes you can be lucky to get a car at all.

We always use EA at LAX after getting some real doozies with other car rental agencies. Last 2 times we got a Chevy Blazer and a Dodge Caravan Sport. Both times there were plenty of minivans and several SUVs. I have heard that National pulled most of the "upgrades" from the EA since switching to the new Emerald Choice program. I will be there in November and can report back then....
