I just reserved a minivan from National from their website for June 30 - July 11. When I checked rates, it asked if I wanted to do "quick rent" to bypass the counter at MCO. Isn't this the same as Emerald Aisle??? Did I just sign up for the EA? My confirmation sheet says go directly to the aisle, pick out your van, and drive to the exit to give the guy my credit card and information and we are on the way. Any thoughts?

Not the same and you did not join Emerald Club (they need more information than just your rental dates). All these programs are explained on the National Web site.

You are correct. I wonder if the OP has it confused with One click rent.

Nope, not mistaken, my email confirmation says, "Your level of service is QuickRent." Then it proceeds to tell me to go directly to my van and drive it to the exit, present my CC, etc...

I realize I did not sign up for EA, but I was wondering why this quickrent is basically the same service that would make me want to sign up for EA (ie. bypassing the counter). As a matter of fact, my husband is an EA person through work and it was cheaper NOT to do the EA rate. Crazy! How do they ever get people to sign up for it??!

The quick rent is nice, but, you cannot use coupons. With EC or a plain rental you can use coupons. Why do people sign up for EC? Who knows, often people save a ton of money with it and the ability to bypass the counter.

Also Quick rent is generally (according to the rules they print) only available for rentals 30 days, or less, out. I usually do not do well with the rates for Quick rent.

Hmmm....I used the Priceless code with it and it worked. Even that is printed on my confirmation. Hope I don't have trouble when I get there! I am going to keep checking for lower rates up until our vacation, but otherwise I'll let you kow how it works out! It sure seems strange because I'm 60 days out and I used a code:confused: Go figure...

codes are fine, they are not coupons. You can use codes with Quick rent, not coupons. Or, did you use a coupon code. If so, check the small print on your confirmation, it usually states that you cannot use the coupon.

No, I used the priceless code thing and not a coupon then. I'll let you know how it goes, unless the rate gets lower before then some other way. Just wish they'd make renting a car a little easier!

Actually, it is quite easy. Just takes a little practice and a LOT of reading. :)
