I've rented a car in Orlando June 19-26. I would like to register on line for the Emerald Aisle but I'm wondering if I have enough time to have the package sent to me. Do I need it or will I have a number to use immediately? Also, if I have the membership but the car rental is in my husband's name is this a problem?

Thanks everyone.

Rebecca

The package is no big deal. You get a number assigned to you as soon as you sign up. As long as your there with your husband, there should be no problem.

You and your husband could both sign up for the rental but also it says on their disclaimer that all licnsed drivers living at the same address can drive the car at no additional charge, so you could put the reservation in your name and he can still drive. You will get a temporary card off the internet when you apply.

Thanks everyone, I've just gone in and registered with Turner Travel now I wonder how to find National and then the garage? Or is it really obvious? I've reserved a full size and that's what I want so I assume I just go to the full-size aisle? Never flown into MCO just Sanford which is so tiny it's really simple!

If you walk out from baggage claim, there is a parking garage. Take the escalater up and follow the signs toward National and the Emerald isle.

From baggage claim, you need to go down 1 level to the street level. Go outside and you will see a parking garage on the other side of the street. You will see a crosswalk. Cross there and go up one level to the National car rental location.

If you booked for a full-size, then you'll go to the row marked Emerald Reserve for full-size. The Emerald Aisle is for intermediates(although there are sometimes small SUV's & full-size vehicles in this row). Just thought I'd mention that if you wanted to be sure you got the size your rented, go to the aisle marked Emerald Reserve.

if you have emerald reserve ....you go to the aisle for which you have reserved...do not think i have ever seen "separate" aisles for Reserve

eg...Emerald Reserve Full Size go to the FULL size aisle

Does anyone know what the selection is like at MCO's Emerald Isle.

I usually use them for business travel, and at most locations there are some SUV's and Mini Vans available.

Has anyone used Emerald Isle at MCO lately - an intermediate would probably be tight, but if there's a good chance I could something else, I might just chance it.

Thanks.

I have never gotten anything other than an intermediate car in Orlando when I use Emerald Aisle. I have gotten very lucky at other Florida airports - but never Orlando. So, if you need more room, you should reserve the size car you need.

Thanks for the advice - I just booked a full size through Emerald Reserve for only $11 more than the EA reservation (on a 10-day rental).

I'll check the isle first - but if there is nothing there but intermediates, I'll just go with the full size.

Thanks again.

I have a hard time understanding the whole Emerald Club thing. Last week we went to Orlando and I wanted a full size and I used a coupon. My reservation said go to the counter. Went to the counter and the lady says"you didn't need to go to the counter just go to Emerald Aisle" I thought I couldn't do that. She says EC is for "VIP" and most VIPs don't use coupons so that was why my reservation told me to go to the counter.

Well, the Emerald Aisle was filled with brand new mini vans. I'm talking at least 2 dozen. So I got a brand new Toyota Siena for $110 for the week.

Not sure why your reservation said to go to counter. I had a full size in May with Emerald Club (Emerald Reserve) with a coupon and my reservation said go to Emerald Reserve. When you are making your reservation, watch the level of service on the left, it may have clicked counter in error. If you don't belong to Emerald Club, you do have to go to the counter with a coupon, even with "Quick Rent".
