We leave next Fri. 1/21, and will use National Emerald Aisle for the first time (used National, without Emerald membership last year). I know that the Emerald membership allows my spouse as an additional driver at no charge, but I'm confused about the process.

I understand that I will skip the counter, go to the cars. We reserved Intermediate, do we go to the intermediate row or is there a row for "Emerald Aisle" (and if so, does that give us more options to choose from)?

Then we drive to the booth, give Emerald Club card, credit card, info in car, and driver's license - do I give both my license and my husband's or just mine since I reserved? Is husband automatically covered because he's my spouse or only covered if we give his license?

I just received my Emerald card yesterday and didn't have a chance to read any of the information that came with it, may that will answer my questions, but I figured someone here would know! Thanks for any help.

You go directly to the aisle labeled as the Emerald Aisle. It is very clearly marked, you can't miss it.

You are guaranteed an intermediate, but there may be larger cars in the aisle. That is the fun of the rental. You can choose anything in that aisle.

When you exit at the booth, you give them all of your information. I would tell them you and your husband will probably drive. They will inform you if they also need your husbands DL. I would just hand them both to the attendant when checking out to save time. I emailed National with this exact question last week and they told me the attendant will tell you if they need any more information on the additional driver.

Have fun! Maybe you will get lucky and get and Aztec or larger than intermediate car! I hope for an SUV when I go in June!

Just did it last month in PBI. Handed them CC, Emerald Card and both Licenses, and away we went. :cool1:

If there are lots of cars on the row, be sure to walk all the way to the end if you don't see one you like. When I was there last month, all the cars were Classics or Grand Am's except for the very last 2. They were a Buick Century & a Chevy Impala. I took the Impala - loved it!

I hope I don't need a club card, because I never got one!
I never take my club card along. I've never been asked for it. Credit card, DL, and coupons are all that are needed.
