HELP!! Why are these codes not working for me......what am I doing wrong? I am looking for a minivan pickup and dropoff at Orlando airport pu on 7/29 and drop off on 8/6. I have tried numerous combinations of codes and still comes out to over $600.00!! I am booked at Dollar for $387.00 for a minivan but still looking for a better rate.

I don't think that you're doing anything wrong, chrismiss56. Minivans in Orlando are in high-demand, especially during the summer months when families like to vacation. The rates are always high for them when the kids are out of school.

The key is to book early. I booked mine as soon as I booked my airfare. That was back in Spetember! I haven't seen a better rate since and I check every week.

Keep your eyes open and maybe some great internet rates will come up for the summer. In the meantime, book the cheapest rate you can find. It will cost you nothing to do so and you can always cancel without penalty.

$303.00

I know it will come down some as we get closer, but for those of you going sooner, you may want to try this AMEX code.

I've had NO luck with either of my trips.

August 21 - 27 when I first booked got $185 but now its at $250 and hasn't come down since.

Then my Oct 30 - Nov 7 trip is also over $200. at $238. and it hasn't budged either.

I've tried all codes so I guess it's just the time I'm going?

ok I have never reserved a car online, how is it possible to reserve it then get it lower? How do you lock in the lowest price? Can you keep adding codes to get it lower and lower over time?

How is it possible? You rebook the car and then cancel the prior reservation. all this can be done online.
You lock the price you reserve. The lowest price is obtained by you watching the boards here and checking the rental site often.
No, you cannot add codes, but, you can make a new reservation.

I saved $50.00 you are the best. I just hope using a Walmart code when I don't work there is not a problem! FYI I think that the National site is having problems with the online cancelling of reservations today. I tried to cancel one and it kept coming up with an ereor so I will try tomorrow.

Used the Priceless Vacation code and an Entertainment $20 off coupon for June 4 - 14th. The rate started out at over $297 and is now down to $216.26, all taxes and extras included.

Checked again last night and saved ANOTHER $21.54. So far my rate has dropped a total of $103.00 .

Kitster.....you are going the exact same dates as us......
and I have tried what I thought was just about every combinationa as posible......
BUT....still the cheapest I can come up with is....$302 incl taxes.
and that is using the National web site special, Entertainment code and coupon.

Kitster....what size car did you reserve??
I tried the priceless vacation code and entertainment coupon book and came up with $339 for a full size.

I booked my mini van last sept. for our vacation July 1 -july 11 and got a quote of $333.94 just checked the other day and it went down to $300.00 I thought thay was great.
