National Car Rental

We are going in April and have confirmed rentals with National. I have added all the driver information. Instead of going to the Kiosk at MCO, is there anyway of doing it online the day before we leave? The less time we are in the airport with 11 people and renting 3 cars, the better.

There is a link on mousesavers for a free membership in National's Emerald Club. Once a member, you will be able to bypass the counter and directly go to the garage and pick out your car. If you have Emerald Aisle service, you can take any car that is on the aisle, otherwise, you just go to the lane for your car class and pick what you want in the class you reserved.

I agree with brianm27 - sign up for National's Emerald club and you bypass any counter or kiosk!! Plus with EC, your spouse automatically becomes a free authorized driver (but make sure they have an EC membership as well) and just give the person at the check out booth, both your EC membership cards and driver's licenses.

You mentioned an Emerald Membership card. We leave on 4/3/10. Would I still have time to get that card? Also...does it cost $$ to get the membership?

Yes there is a cost for the membership however I believe mousesavers.com has a link for free membership. Unfortunately I don't know how quickly they mail out the cards.

In my expericence, you don't need to hand them your Emerald Aisle card at the booth. Just hand them your driver's license and your confirmation.

That would work too as they just need your Emerald Club number to pull up your reservation

I just used National this weekend at MCO, I am also a Emerald club member, all that was required at the booth was a copy of the reservation and your drivers licence. Btw I had a Malibu confirmed but when I got the the Emerald club Isle, I found a nice Dodge Charger and took that ..... what a ride !

I am also an Emerald Club member. Just sign up online, and then add your member number to your reservation before you go. When you get to the airport in Orlando, head to the National area (2nd level, on the right, I think), pick you car from the Emerald Aisle, and then hand over the hang tag and DL at the gate. You're all set!

BTW - I never have my card. I just make sure my Emerald Club number is linked with my reservation.
