National-Can a "Get a Quote" when Modifying an Existing Ressie?

I want to add the ND41 coupon to my existing ressie which I made back in February with the now defunct contract code 6600330. My initial quote was 162.56 for a Tues through Sat rental. Now National has on their own added half a day's charge to my itinerary which now is at 184.18. When I try other applicable contract codes, it's always 185-245! So can I add the coupon to an existing ressie? Can you view a price quote first or will it automatically apply it since it's an existing ressie? Thanks!

The reason that the price went up is because they probably added back in the charge that was eliminated under the Priceless code. As for changing an existing ressie, you can view the new price before committing to it, but you will probably see the rate go up. That's because it seems that when you modify, it automatically adjusts the price to the current available one.

I tried to do that with my ressie for September. Booked in April. Wanted to change the coupon code from one $20 off to another $20 off (just had the other coupon more accessible). As soon as I tried, the price went up significantly (the rate was the current one available under the code I was using). So I declined the change and kept the original booking and dug up the coupon.

I check several times a day to see if anything changes, but so far my current ressie is the best price. I have seen people noting that their rates have started to go down, but mostly for July/August rentals.

Yes, that's what I was afraid of; any modifications would adjust to the current daily or weekly rate which of course is much higher now than when I booked. My trip is at the beginning of August. I will continue to try and get a better price. I guess a day or so ago, prices for August rentals dropped. Unfortunately, I haven't checked for a few days so I may have missed out. Thanks for the info!
