We after two positive pregnancy tests and an unusual naseated reaction to some nachos I thought I wanted for lunch I guess it is official. Nathan is going to be a big brother!!! :)

We just started trying for #2 this past month so I was a little shocked it happened this fast. I really expected it to take a least a few months. I am really excited and scared to be going through all of this again. My mind has just been spinning thinking of all the ways our little family is going to change with the addition of another little baby. My only hope and prayer for this pregnancy (other than the obvious one for a healthy baby) is that I do not have another round of pre-eclampsia. I was scared the first time but out of necessity I didn't let myself realize how dangerous it was at that time....I have since discovered just how bad of a situation I was in last time.

No official due date yet but one of those online due date calculators said January 29th and that sounds about right to me. I am sure my boss will be thrilled when I tell him that I am due the same time as the W-2's. ;) (I am a programmer/analyst for our HR/payroll system at work and needless to say December/January is a very busy time for us.)

What happy news! Congratulations, Becka!

That is great, Becka, congratulations to you both. And Nathan is growing up so. :)

How exciting! Our 17 month old grandson, Nathan, became a big brother a week ago yesterday! :teeth: They also have a 10½ y/o sister! Nathan is not sure what to do about the baby. He looks and wonders about her. I am his nanny and he didn't like it the 1st time or 2 that I held her. He is ok with it now. He is getting more and more use to her being in "his" house.

Good luck with the pregnancy. Hope everything goes great.

Congratulations again! :sunny:

Congrats Becka!! I wanted to let you know that just because you had pre-eclampsia with your first doesn't mean you'll have it with your second. I had it with my first pregnancy, and I had it BAD! I was taken out of work and put on complete bed rest at 30 weeks, and DD was delivered early at 36 weeks because my kidneys were beginning to shut down. I was TERRIFIED with my second pregnancy, but my OB at the time (different OB's since we moved) said that I only had an increased risk of getting it again. He said if the normal population is 5% of getting pre-eclampsia, my risk was around double of 10% chance of getting it. I had a COMPLETELY normal pregnancy and a VBAC delivery to boot. My second pregnancy was SO MUCH easier than the first, that I couldn't believe that being pregnant could be so easy (well compared to the he double hockeysticks I went through with the first!) So, don't worry, and everything will work out fine, and you'll have a healthy pregnancy!

Congrats and good luck
after almost loosing me when DS was born 12yrs ago DH was glad I was never pregnant again due to the pre-eclampsia
After almost loosing me once he never wanted to go through that again

CONGRATULATIONS to Mom, Dad and Nathan. How exiting a new baby to join your family. :D

Oh Becka!! Congratulations!! That is just wonderful news! Here's to a safe and uneventful pregnancy. He/She will be here before you know it!
