Natalie & Phil's Oct 25th Wishes Wedding TR: Vendor reviews at last!! :)

Hi everyone. So....our MK Shoot HAS been cancelled I'm so disappointed but I have to say Dara at DFAP was so lovely and really tried to help us. She must have been put in a terrible position having to pass on this bad news to all the brides and I'm pleased that they offered alternatives rather than just saying it's cancelled and tough luck. But as much as we talked about other park shoots or doing the MK shoot a year later, it just wouldn't be the same. We wanted the shoot as a special memory and experience from our Wedding trip...But, I'm happy to say there is some light at the end of the tunnel..... We are in Orlando the week before the wedding and they are still offering MK Shoots that week. When she first mentioned doing the shoot BEFORE the wedding I was like no way, I don't want Phil to see the dress etc! But then we talked about it more and I talked with Phil and we thought why don't I get another dress, still ivory, but not as 'weddingey' (I think I just made up a word ). So not a full on Brides Dress (don't want anything that will take away from my dress on the big day!) but still a nice simple ivory dress, maybe a nice ivory/white evening dress. So that's what we have gone with. The shoot is booked 5 days before the wedding, Phil will wear a suit and I will wear a nice dress. Don't get me wrong, I'm so disappointed that I won't be able to wear my wedding dress with the veil etc for the shoot (I had a whole shot pictured in my head that I wanted ), this situation is by no means ideal, but if this is only way we get our MK Shoot then so be it. I'm trying to a positive glass half full girl about the whole thing, so I'm just going to look at it as we still get to do the shoot during our wedding trip and I'm going to treat it as the most awesome, amazing pre-wedding shoot ever! And who knows, if we win the lottery this weekend maybe we could do an MK Shoot in our wedding outfits for our anniversary trip next year!

Oh Natalie I'm sorry your shoot was cancelled. At least you came up with a nice alternative, a pre-wedding photo shoot has a nice ring to it. Also you now get the added fun of finding a photo shoot dress

Natalie, so sorry you got the dreaded call! But I'm happy for you that you still get to have the shoot, even if it's not exactly what you originally envisioned. I would've done the same as you, had it not been going to cost us $2K to get down there 2 days early (and even then we'd have to hope that MK didn't cancel THAT day).

Thanks Amy. I know what you mean about them cancelling this shoot too! I'm gonna be pretty nervous about that over the next few months! I'm sorry to hear you've been having even stresses/troubles! I can't believe how much you've been messed around! It's just not fair.

Hey Sarah. Yep was gutted, that was the call I was waiting for the other evening! Was really down about it at first but then I've tried to stay positive and think of it as something to really look forward to and get us even more excited about the wedding

Thanks, glad you like the colours! Yeah, really disappointed about not doing the MK Shoot in our wedding outfits, but atleast i'm getting to do it some way or another, even if it is a different dress it should hopefully still be special.

Hi everyone, I hope you are all well.

Well, I have been absent for a while haven't I? I honestly don't know where the time goes these days!!!!!! I can't believe it is nearly 3 months to the big day!!! Sorry to trot out the old cliche but it really has been sooooooooooo busy at work lately and I'm kind of just getting a chance to catch up! Oh and I had an unfortunate mishap at work three weeks ago.....I scalded my left wrist and hand whilst making a cup of tea (I'm so predictably English, I do love my cups of tea! To be fair it wasn't just for me, it was for the boss too!) Water straight from the kettle.....needless to say...ouch. Had to take a fews trip back and forth to hospital but thankfully it is healing really really well!

Anyways, enough with the drama and back to weddings....I now have an adult bridesmaid. I had just a flowergirl before (Phil's little niece) but now Phil's sister will be bridesmaid. I have chosen this dress for her, but it will be pink, not red.

I've also been having thoughts about our MK Shoot. If you don't already know, our original shoot, which would have been four days after the wedding, got cancelled and they offered us an alternative shoot the week before the wedding. This meant I wouldn't get to wear my dress for the shoot (I'm a too much of a traditionalist for Phil to see the dress beforehand) but trying to stay positive and be a 'glass-half-full' kinda gal I thought, hey, atleast we're still getting a shoot, treat it as the most amazing pre-wedding shoot ever, look for an alternative dress......and I really did try to do that.....but the more I looked at other peoples gorgeous MK photos, the more I realised I really want the shoot in THE dress and I just thought, I really can't settle for second best and that's what it feels like it would be. So, I think I'm going to email them to cancel it. We will definately be returning to Orlando sometime next year so I'm hoping we could arrange another shoot then. I'm really really sad that we won't get to have the shoot during our wedding trip but I think in the long run it's for the best. And hey, it'll be another excuse to get in the dress again

I think, that's about it for now....Oh, I forgot, we've booked the Major Domo as MC for our reception!!

That's a really nice dress you picked out for your BM, it'll look lovely in pink.

I must say your handling the photo shoot thing really well and I agree maybe it is best in the long run, perfect excuse to the dress back on.

The Major Domo looks like a brilliant extra to have at your wedding, can't wait to see the pics.

I'm sorry about cancelling the MK shoot, but I agree with you--- I think for a lot of couples, it's just more special after the wedding, and you must do what's right for you!

But, I do really like that dress! I know ALL girls say this and it makes me think of 27 Dresses, but I really think she'll be able to wear it again!

I think you have made the right decision with regard to the MK shoot. It is a shame but I really feel there is a lot of heartache associated with the shoots at the moment. Perhaps when you return to do it next year, it will have sorted itself out a bit.
