Any suggestions on where to go on Paradise Island or Cable Beach in Nassau? Are there any hotels that allow cruisers to use their beach, pool, chairs, facilities, etc.?

Can anyone compare Paradise Island to Cable Beach?

How far is the shopping area from these beaches?

Thanks very much.

Having been to Cable Beach and Paradise Island and Nassau from both cruise ships and flying there for a few days.......... If you are thinking about getting off the ship to do the beach, IMO it's not worth it. You will need a cab to either or both places. Most of the beaches on Paradise Island are private hotel owned. Like Atlantis, and you will pay a lot to use their beach. The Crystal Palace on Cable Beach does not charge for people to use their part of the beach, but I don't like the hassle of the people trying to get you to buy stuff (legal and otherwise), or braid your hair. They walk up and down all the public beaches all day. If you want to shop in Nassau, it is all with in walking distance of the ship, but there are no real bargains, unless you want to buy stuff fro the straw market, the sellers will haggle some on thier prices. I prefer to stay on the ship, and sit by the pool, but that's just me. gain having been there at least 10 times, I don't need to get on shore at all. Castaway Cay is a much better beach experience and the price is included, no taxis, no hassles.
