Hello everyone. I am just wonder what the port is like at Nassau? Are there any shops or bars/restaurants really close by or do you have to get a cab to really go anywhere? Thanks in advance!

There all kinds of shops and restaurants right as you walk off the ship!

In my opinion not worth the time. I thought it felt unsafe and I have walked alone in NYC at midnight and thought Nassau was worse in the day.

But I would consider a Disney excursion safer such a blue lagoon beach which I did read good reviews on recently

Pirate Republic Brewing is right across the cruise terminal. Don't know if they are actually any good, but trip advisor doesn't seem to mind it.

I never felt unsafe in Nassau and found it underwhelming. We basically started along Woodes Rodgers Walk and then turned up one of the roads to Bay Street and then over and down Parliament back to the cruise ship. You can even look up Nassau on Google maps to get an idea of where you might want to go. This is what I did before leaving on my cruise.

If I cruise to Nassau again, I would probably plan a trip to the Pirate Museum, Ardastra Gardens, or just get off for an hour or so to walk around and then get back on the ship.

I would recommend booking a port adventure any one you seem interested in, just do some research you can book through Disney (which I recommend) or privately which ever you feel more comfortable doing. There isn't really much to see or do within walking distance of the ship. The straw market is...interesting the vendors there are pretty pushy I had to tell the same few people "no thank you" quite a few times. Atlantis is beautiful and i have heard good things about Blue lagoon as well. If you don't plan on booking any port adventures I would recommend staying on the boat or getting off just for a quick photo op in front of the "Bahamas" sign.

Yeah we have a port adventure booked. But my sister wanted a drink and I didn't want to have to get a cab to go get one.
