Do you have to get off the ship with your friends??? Why not just recommend some great things for them to do and you will all be happy.
Hubby, daughter and I can highly recommend the two hour historic taxi tour. They let you out at all the famous places, queens staircase, the light house, a couple of the forts..it is excellent. All for around $25 per person...can't remember exactly..we booked through disney and did the first trip of the morning. None of us wanted to go to the beach..we had
castaway cay the next day..so, the driver even stopped at a small beach so we could all get out and take photos on the beach..very nice. We were done in two hours..great way to get a taste of the island.
We stopped by senor frogs of course, for tshirts and a photo op with the giant senor frog on the deck outside..makes for great pics.
We had a wonderful lunch at Conch Fritters..recommended by our taxi tour driver. Large open windows...2nd floor..about a block from the straw market. Great food. Nice place to try a Kalik..beer of the bahamas if you are a beer lover.
You can stop at hard rock cafe.
You can get postcards and stamps at the pharmacy to mail to friends/family or yourself. There is a mailbox right near the pharmacy also.
Atlantis is always an option.
Don't miss the straw market..especially if it is someones first time to Nassau. What an experience..everyone has to do it atleast once.
Oh, and if you like Philipino food..there is the best restaurant...right to the left of the straw market..ocean side...we stopped for Lumpia on the way back to the ship....wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. Wish we had noticed it earlier in the day.
We had a great time at Nassau..oh, and don't forget if you like the flavored rums and such..there is a great island brand..and you can taste before you buy.
Also..just talking with the people in some of the regular shops..they are wonderful and a blast to talk with.
Enjoy!
