I'm sure you all have seen this question a thousand times but...

I'm torn between the two excursions. I'd love to do Atlantis because the beaches look really nice (plus its Atlantis) BUT i'm traveling with an elder and i'm not sure if the beach day at Atlantis is too much walking for him. Has anyone done this excursion through Disney? is it a lot of walking?

Also, Blue Lagoon looks beautiful...but i'm not sure if the beaches would be better at Atlantis...overall which is a better excursion in your opinion?

Thanks!! :goodvibes

We haven't done the Atlantis one, but we did do the Beach Day on Blue Lagoon island and loved it. My trip report is in my signature if you want lots of details (you will need to go to the month of June on the side under 2010).

In short, it was worth the money spent, much quieter than Castaway Cay with better water in my opinion. Floats all included, lunch and two drinks. I have a TON of pics in this album here:

Looking for reviews on Blue Lagoon and was happy to find this thread! Thank you mom2aidanNpiper for the link to your blog and pictures. :goodvibes

Thank you so much for the pictures and the blog post. We did Atlantis a few years ago and was not impressed for what they charge. I am booking Blue Lagoon and cannot wait. I have heard so many good things about the Blue Lagoon!!!

We enjoyed our day at Blue Lagoon last summer! We did the Dolphin encounter/observer excursion with our kids. After the dolphins you can stay and enjoy the beach... It was beautiful and my kids loved it. the catamaran ride was about half hour but enjoyable. I would most definitely return to Blue Lagoon!

Am very interested in hearing your views on Atlantis. I've been looking at the Atlantis Beach day and the Blue Lagoon Beach day and am having a hard time deciding which one I want to do. I really like aquariums and the fact that there are many return times between 1p and 5p to get back to the ship where as the Blue Lagoon only has the two return times. (That is by booking the excursion through DCL which I will be doing)

We went to the Atlantis this past Jan. through DCL. I have 3 teenagers and they loved it! They rode the water slides all day long. But, it was a very expensive excursion. I have had 2 knee surgeries in the past 2 years. It was a lot of walking but once I got to the pools and slides, I was pretty well done walking. The walk back to the buses didn't seem quite as long.

All that being said, we are cruising again in 2013 this time with my DH. I know he won't want to spend that kind of money to go to the Atlantis so I am guessing we will check out Blue Lagoon.

Return times aren't dictated by Disney, but by Blue Lagoon. It's actually on a separate island and they run the ferry back and forth on a specific timetable.

We visited Blue Lagoon on our cruise last March. We had a great time. We loved that it was a secluded island and away from the hustle and bustle of Nassau. At one point it was mostly just DCL people there until a Carnival cruise docked. Atlantis seemed a lot busier to me and certainly a lot more people.

Plus, the Blue Lagoon Beach day is around $30 cheaper per person and lunch is included.

Have fun!

Did you ever decide which to do? I'm currently having the same dilemma, I've actually been to the Atlantis on holiday but DH has never been and I think he'd love to at least see it.

Thanks for the beautiful pictures! Can't wait to go in February!

Is it crazy that I am considering not doing either one? We are a family of 5 and they both seem so expensive for the short day.
