Nassau - Dolphin Encounter

Sorry if this has already been discussed...... do you wear water shoes at the Dolphin Encounter in Nassau? Is the platform slippery?

When I did the Dolphin Encounter, I didn't wear water shoes. I don't remember the platform to be very slippey. It was a wonderful experience. I would recommend bringing a waterproof camera to take pictures. We bought a disposable one and the pictures came out great.

Thanks for the info - I am planning on doing the Dolphin Experience with DS when we go in December 2009 and I was wondering about water shoes as well.

We may wear them anyway and just wear them off the ship to reduce the amount of "stuff" we have to keep track of. I will definitely be taking a waterproof camera (or 2) for that and Castaway Cay.

We just did the Dolphin Encounter last week and my whole family thought it was worth every penny. It was amazing. You can wear water shoes if you want, one person in our group did. Yes, the platform and steps are slimy and slippery. You will be standing and kneeling on the platform depending on your height. My DS (5) stood the whole time as the water was up to his shoulders. Have a great time.
