Nassau departure time

I've searched the forums and can't seem to find it, but I swear I read about the Dream departing Nassau late on occasion. It had something to do with the crew being extra time due to positive reviews. Is this true?

Yes- happened on one of our cruises.

We were docked in Nassau on one occasion a few years back and didn't leave port until 2:00AM. We were told it was so crew could
have some R&R. I don't recall it was ever mentioned at all.

So everyone was still supposed to be back by 5 or whatever the regular published time was?

We just got back from the Dream where we stopped in at Nassau. I had the Stuarts Cove Scuba Diving excursion booked. While heading to the meet up area on the ship one of the cast members suggested that I tell any family or friends we were traveling that we would be the last ones back onboard. Sure enough we pulled into port right at 5PM and our group speed walked to get back to the ship. By the time we got through the "shops" and then security it was about 5:15. When we boarded the cruise the cast members picked up the radio and reported "the last of the divers were back onboard". By the time I got to our room on deck 12 and started getting things in order we pulled out of dock. If we had hit any traffic we would have sailed out later than scheduled.

And that is why I will never book an excursion outside of the cruise line because if we weren't booked through DCL I'm not sure how long they would have waited on us.
