Nassau - Catamaran and Snorkel Excursion

Is anyone able to tell me how deep the water is at the reef on this excursion? I have been on past snorkels that were deep open water and also some that were on a sandbar. Trying to prepare my 8 year old son for his first snorkel adventure

Also, is the snorkel vest that is provided enough to keep a child floating? They appear kind of flimsy in some photos I have seen.

I would say maybe 15-20 feet? It wasn't that deep if I recall... we didn't go with children but there was a boy about 9 or 10 on there and he seemed fine and I think there were other kids too. I would feel safe bringing my girls (5 and 8) on the adventure.
