Anyone watch this show? It starts tonight (and it's on as I'm writing this now). I started watching last season. Mid-way through, they must've had a 6-hour marathon and I was glued to the tv (and I didn't even think I liked country music...I've changed my ways since then). Anyone watching this season?

I will be watching. Tivo is going now. I will watch when everyone is asleep. I love this show more than AI and wish that Pickler and Bucky had tried out for this one instead. They are so much more suited for this show. So I am subscribing and will post tomorrow.

I'll watch it after The Amazing Race.

Wynonna scares me, but am psyched about the inclusion of Cowboy Troy this year!

I missed Amazing Race, darn it.

But...so far, the guys are HOT HOT HOT tonight (well, mostly). I really like the first girl (beauty queen). I thought she was really good and the judge was harsh on her for competing in pagents - so what? It is a great way to become polished and earn scholarship money!

Anyway...I did enjoy NS more than AI tonight :-)

Just checked the website and this will be on again at 130am--ill probably be up , so gonna watch it then!

I won't ruin it for everyone who didn't watch yet, but I must say that I'm surprised at who went home. I thought the one who went was decent and there were others that were worse.

I dont' know...I thought he/she (no spoilers) was pretty ordinary, if not just bad. I was not surprised at all. I also would not have been too surprised if the *sweetheart* was the one.

I LOVE this show!

I have to say, I was also surprised at who went home. I thought she put on a good show, and seemed so comfortable on stage!

Then again, I don't know who I would have picked. They were all great!

I've never heard of Nashville Star. Is that like the Hillbilly American Idol? :)

Country music American Idol -- not hillbilly. :p

I really enjoyed it tonight. Lots of wonderful talent, better than last year's talent even!

In fact, at the end of the show, I had *6* people I wanted to vote for. LOL!

While I was surprised at who went home, I didn't think she was the best and she was in the bottom 3 for me.

I thought Wynonna was fantastic with how supportive she was of all the contestants. And Troy was hilarious.

We're in for a great season!

Ah, sorry Rajah. I figured I was allowed use the term Hillbilly, since I am one. :)

I did not see all of the performances, but I am glad the person that went home went home. I thoguht they were absolutely horrendous.

Like I said, I only saw a few performances, but my favorite was Yodel Girl.

I agree that the one who went home wasn't great, but I thought Broadway girl (who I didn't think sounded Broadway at all, by the way) was lousy. It'll take me a little while to warm up to any of these contestants, but I agree that yodel-girl was definitely memorable (and easy on the eyes ;) ).

Your favorite was Yodel girl?? Really? I liked her til she started to sing and then I was like what is up with that song choice?

I think they could dump all of the women and just keep the guys. Loved everyone of them! Well, the blond guy with the long hair was not my fav.

I was totally blown away by the person who got cut.

Its quite common for my favorites to be quite different from the vast majority.

I love this show and have been watching since Season 1. I have last nights on my tivo since I was already in bed but can't wait to watch it.

LOL! No offense taken. I just equate "hillbilly" music as more of bluegrass and the very old classic country. This is definitely not "classic country or bluegrass" -- which in some ways I think is a shame.

I agree, I really liked Yodel Girl. She wasn't afraid to bring back a bit of the classics and I loved her.

I can't really pick a favorite. I really liked all the guys except Shy, and liked Yodel Girl
