The 18th race of the 36 race 2009 NASCAR season takes us back to Daytona!
This race is just about the half-way mark of the year!
The race, The Coke Zero 400, will be held Saturday July 4th. Qualifying is Friday, July 3rd, so PLEASE make your picks by then!
Daytona is a SuperSpeedway with a lap distance of 2.5 miles. The racers are scheduled for 160 laps making the total race distance 400 miles.
Bobby Allison has the most wins here since 1975 with a scorching total of 6 wins.
More recent history:
In 2/09, #1 M Truex had the fastest qualifying time in a race won by #17 M Kenseth.
In 2/08, #48 J Johnson led at the start but #39 R Newman was the first to cross the start-finish line.
In 7/08, Paul Menard had the poein a race won y #18 Kyle Busch.
In 2/07, David Gilliland turned in the fastest qualifying time and #29 K Harvick too home the checkered flag.
In 7/07, #24 J Gordon zoomed the Dupont Chevrolt to the pole but #26 J McMurray was the race winner.
