The tri-oval track or as DW calls the the roval
- some say it's a boring race but it's one place my DH wants to go, maybe someday.
Last year's winner of this race was Carl Edwards, Kurt Busch won the July race so it was a Roush sweep last year. Interesting tidbit from Jayski: Up front is best at Pocono: In the 56 Cup races held at Pocono the winner has started in the front row 18 times and the top ten 40 times. So qualifying is very important here. Terry Labonte will be running this race too.
Qualifying is Friday at 3:40PM Daytona Time (I'll have to listen on XM radio as we'll be driving to TX to watch the Craftsman Truck race that evening - watch for me on Speed during the race
) Picks must be posted prior to the start of qualifying.
My Picks:
1. #24 - Jeff Gordon (never giving up)
2. #48 - Jimmie Johnson (an overall finish of 8.1 in 13 races here)
3. #25 - Brian Vickers (has always started in top 10, due for a win soon)
4. #8 - Dale Earnhardt Jr (has scored four straight top-15 finishes at Pocono)
5. #31 - Jeff Burton (picking him helped put me second last week)
Spare - #44 Terry Labonte (may was well stay with Chevy)
Good luck all!
