NASCAR fans I need your help

I am trying to put together a fantasy team together. I have been out of the loop the past 2 seasons. So here is my question this year does Michael Waltrip get provisionals with his new team and ownership?

I think I found something that he may only have provisionals for the first 5 races. Does anyone know anything else?

I just asked my boyfriend and he says that he doesnt have any provisionals.. He has to race his way in to the first 5 races and after that he has to be in the top 35 in owner points for a guaranteed start.. Hope this makes sense, because it means nothing to me... If you have any more questions, feel free to ask..

Complete sense. I have been out of the loop for awhile and DH is in a fantasy thing. I am going with the if you can't beat him, join him approach this year. Now I have to think if I want to pick him or not along with 2 other drivers. Waltrip is such a great guy, but I don't think he will win me any money back though.

Nikki, I believe this is correct. I think he bought the owner points from another team that folded (the 77 maybe?). So, he is gaurenteed a spot in the first 5 races and then after that he has to be in the top 35 in points...I could be wrong though, but that's what I've heard.

Too many questions about his team this year (new team, driving a Dodge vs a Chevy etc...). I heard next year he is moving to the newly formed Toyota team. I like his sense of humor, but maybe you should look at another choice. I dont' know too many choices since a lot of drivers moved to different teams. Kind of crazy.

You are correct. Waltrip formed a partnership with the owner of the 77 team and basically bought the owner points for his new ride the 55. After the first five races he will have to be in the top 35 to be guaranteed a spot each week. I think he'll do it, barely but he will (My dh is fan, I've got to be positive.)

Thanks for the info. I have no clue who to pick this year. My salary cap is really getting me messed up. I can't afford who I really want.
