This will be our second TG trip. Out first onsite w/ DDP. I've narrowed down our TG choices based on the type of food etc. I had origianlyl thought Garden Grill but now I'm worried about n ot getting into Epcot for dinner. We'll leave to watch the football game/ rest at ~3PM.

So our choices - 2 adults and 1 4 y/o boy that isn't really picky (yet) and loves Thanksgiving type food.

Garden Grill
Boma
Chef mickey's
Whispering Canyon

What are your thoughts?:goodvibes

I think we'll be in Animal Kingdom that morning.

Other ressies we'll make include - Teppan Edo, Ohana, Coral Reef and Crystal Palace maybe the Plaza.

Thanks all. I've leared lots since I've been on here.

Thanks poster about my abbreviation!!

If your son loves Thanksgiving type food than Liberty Tree Tavern would be an excellent choice, for dinner. Besides turkey there's ham and beef. The mashed potatoes are very good. The mac 'n cheese is not! :confused3 My DM and I really like the salad. And the dessert is good too. The characters are dressed in colonial costumes. Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Chip and Dale.
This may not work with your TG? schedule. It looks like all your choices for that meal, except GG, are non-park choices. So, are you looking for something at a resort or DTD?

I'm sorry, I don't know what TG means? Something to do with football? (It may be why you haven't gotten any repies yet)

Yes, I agree with the PP... No idea what TG is? Is it truly Thanksgiving, as you mentioned it later and I see you mentioned a football game as well.

I see you're going to AK in the morning, and then you mentioned the football game around 3. What time are you planning on going for dinner? You mention you were worried about getting into epcot for dinner, but I have no idea how busy the parks are on Thanksgiving so I'm sorry I can't help you with that part. If you're leaving from your hotel (ie, after rest/football game) though getting to the parks may be the easiest places, as you would have to have transport to the resorts via DTD or a park (unless you're planning on a rental car). I don't think you'd have a problem getting in, but again, I've never been over Thanksgiving. I've just heard that the worst times, when they close some parks to capacity, are Christmas, New Years, 4th of July. It might also be perfectly ok due to the lateness of the hour, depending on when you're planning on eating.

I agree with the PP who said LTT has the most Thanksgiving-type food. GG's menu would also satisfy that. I think Boma could be like a stretch on it, but would be interesting for you and would have some of the same flavors.

I'm also going to suggest ESPN - sure, it doesn't really have Thanksgiving type foods, but you could watch the game there!

Duh-Illuminations, you must be right TG is Thanksgiving. I wasn't thinking that far into the year. So, I would do LTT if possible. Probably a very popular choice on TG. I think other restaurant will also offer TG fare.

Unless I'm mistaken -- always a high probability -- one of the resorts usually has a big fat Thanksgiving spread in one of the ballrooms.

They have seatings throughout the day, with an extensive holiday buffet, and characters who drop by. It's a little pricier, I believe, but it sounds like a festive and special event. Anyone been?

Meantime, we dined at Cape May Cafe for T'giving a few years back and loved it.

Hmm the ballroom might work for us. Where's that? I was thinking about ESPN club for DH but heard you have to get there hours early. My DS and I may go back to hotel. I was thinking a late dinner.

We also have DDP so not worried about cost per se.

Never heard of the ballroom dinner.....and it wasn't suggested last year when I was in a frantic fit on the phone trying to find a TS for my family on Thanksgiving. Everything I asked for was booked solid and I called at 180+10 out!

I'm reveiwed the menus and that is how I chose these as options.

I've got to do some research on the ballroom with dinner. We want to eat late. I'm sure the football game will last 3 hours +.

If you search on allears.net (http://www.allears.net/menu/men_thks.htm), you'll see that most restaurants offer traditional fare on Thanksgiving. So, you're probably safe no matter where you eat.

I'd worry about the crowds at MK on Thanksgiving. We'll be there at the same time, and we're planning to do Epcot on that day. I haven't decided where we'll eat yet (still have a little time before my ADRs), but most of the restaurants offer Thanksgiving fare anyway.
