Narrow Sandals?

I've got a problem with DD who takes 6.5 d fitting startright shoes (only because they don't make c fitting in her size) and I can't find sandals for our holiday in August.

I've tried adult shoes but they seem even wider than the kids. She also has very slim ankles so velco fastenings don't usually do up tight enough.

Does anyone know of any shops in central London or Surrey that stock narrow (not too expensive) footwear?

Libby, I don't know if I can help I'm afraid (I've always had the opposite problem!!) but we always found Clark's had a good range of widths (they went up to H for wide feet so I'm guessing they must have done sandals for narrow feet too?)

I'm only guessing and you may have already tried there anyway :(

Good luck!

Unfortunately Clarks are good for wide shoes but not narrow! Our DD Laura is also a D fitting at Startrite....and we too find sandals very difficult to buy!

Thanks for your replies. The problem seems to have got worse as she's got older - the biggger shoes do not come in the narrowest sizes. When she was smaller (she's 11 now) we'd make extra holes in the straps of her sandals, but since velcro has replaced buckles we can't do that.
My aunt used to have shoes made for her, but that's too pricey until DD's feet stop growing.

I'll keep looking and if anyone comes across any please let me know.

I've always found that French shoes generally come up quite narrow. Do you get a Vertbaudet catalogue? You could always order some and send them back if they're no good. They've got a lovely varied range of sandals and summer shoes at the moment.

Success!! We went to John Lewis today in Oxford Street and they had one pair of Bootleg (which I think are Clarks) size 6.5 in an F fitting. Luckily they had enough velco at the ankle and the foot to tighten them up enough for DD and a good sole for walking round the theme parks The only downside is they're silver and blue which DD thinks is great but I was hoping for something more sober.

Thanks again for your suggestions.

Libby

PS. The Vertbaudet had some lovely sandals which were my fallback if todays shopping trip hadn't been successful.

Well that's great news Libby!

LOL to your silver and blue comment!
