Hi Everyone,

Have any of you ever dined at one of the above?

If so, what was it like? If you have been to both, which is best for an adults only meal?

We want somewhere on the monorail as the children are going to the Neverland Club at the Poly. I think I'm the only person in the world who doesn't fancy the Cali Grill!

I posted this on the Restaurants board a few weeks ago and got some great responses (I think my mind is almost but not quite made up ;)) and I would love to get some feedback from any Brits that have been to either.

Thanks

Karen

We have eaten at Citrico's, here is a bit from our trip report

After a rest and a change we headed back to the Grand Floridian for our dinner reservation at Citrico’s. We were seated at a lovely window table and were given personalised menus with Happy Anniversary on them. I had a citrus – infused Martini and DH had a Citropolitan martini while we were looking at our menus. I had Warm Onion Tart and DH had sauteed shrimp to start followed by a polenta dish for me and Paprika and Honey-marinated Pork Tenderloin and finally for dessert I had Chocolate and Banana Torte and DH had a Cheesecake. They had decorated our dessert plates with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate – a lovely touch. Also during dessert we could see the fireworks going off in the Magic Kingdom that night for MNSSHP.

There were lots of children in the restaurant here, it was a busy lively restaurant.

We hope to try Narcossee's next time. I love the way it is situated right on the water front. :)

Just to throw another spanner in the works, friends of mine at at the Grand Floridian Cafe and said they thought it was excellent. It's labelled as "relaxed" dining so I would say if you're not so keen on getting VERY dressed up it's a workable option. He thought the steaks there were better than the Yachtman's steakhouse at the Y+B !!

Having walked up to both to inspect the menus, my impression is that Narcoosees is a little more dressy and formal, Citrico's a little more casual (although both were a cut above the "regular" restaurants intmost resorts) . Maybe that was just the clientelle for that night, it's difficult to get a feel for that sometimes.

Oh an extra spanner in the works, when I used to leave my kids in the Neverland club, we often went to Epcot to eat as it's just a short walk from the Poly to the Epcot monorail ;) . Just to give you something else to mull over ;)

Oh Vernon!!

That's just what I didn't need, more choices!!

Actually though that's a good plan to go to Epcot. I must admit I had focused on the "monorail" resorts and completely forgot what an easy walk it is to the TTC from the Poly.

I am going away to put my thinking cap back on. Thank you both!

Karen
